I dont know why anyone actually thought she was going to surprise drop an album... none of the labels are letting artists do this right now.
Every artist is being forced to post the snippet in tiktoks over and over again for weeks to "build hype". I feel like I've heard lil nas x's new song a zillion times and its not even out, I dont even know the name of it. Its ridiculous but yeah they are going to draw out this release for months.
 
I do think this is going to be a great album from Charli although personally I find the visuals a bit lacking so far. 
It seems like she really made exactly what her fans have been asking for. More polished than HIFN but less commercial safe than Crash its exactly in that lane that I want from Charli songs.
 
That being said I'm tired of hearing the von dutch snippet and just want it to be released and done with so we can get more snippets of the other tracks.

The final album art looks like it was accidentally taken while she was adjusting her pose during the shoot but not in like an artsy meaningful way.
IDK how to explain it but it just frustrates me, it looks awkward.
 
I actually think the faceless album art where she is leaning on her own shoulder is a really smart concept however because her ponytail is such a signature look that even though its faceless you know who the album is by.

Im afraid this release is looking pretty bad for her overall. If XCX World would still have had a chance to be released, at least as an EP, which songs would have you chosen? Considering After the Afterparty, Boys, Girls Night Out and No Angel were released as standalone singles anyway, I think I'd choose these:
Bounce (feat. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu) Taxi Down Like Whoa The One I Die 4 Can You Hear Me? Waterfall Summer Love, Pop the Balloons and Blow Your Mind are also really good.

And I mean….. she said herself, Feed the Beast is literally her feeding her record label whatever they asked for.
 
I guess only time can tell when Kim gets out of her contract and if she decides to go independent, or if Slayyyter ever gets a bigger label deal. What would happen.
 
But you absolutely do not hear Kim in interviews talking about her passion for wanting to improve, push musical / cultural boundaries, improve her writing skills, speak about her personal life inspiring her music, wanting to learn production, being critical of her past work that missed the mark (outside of her earliest childhood releases),  and so on. This is stuff that is all very apparent in Slayyyter interviews, its not all fake pop celebrity “oh my goddd i was on set with nicki minaj it was so fab #sliving woo ahh!” dribble.
 
I liked Kim’s music a lot up to Clarity, for the record. Shes certainly not that person anymore, in my view.

Yeah im shaking for the mariah remix. 
 
The new era feels mid honestly yes and is just -okay- its nothing fantastic. And the photoshoots have always sucked for her i just dont understand how shes got soooo much money and success and just gives us nothing…
 
i used to stan her so hard in dw through tun eras but she just continues to disappoint. Im hoping the full album drop is really worth it and the project is great. Im actually expecting it to be better than positions at least.

Just to clarify it’s not about the sex for me. Sing about sucking dick as much as you want, it’s the terrible production that kills these Slut Pop releases.

At least everyone is rightfully dragging her, except for 100 dollar Bill. And the ones who dare to praise it have to pre-face it with apologies like "oh you have to be in the mindset to enjoy it" or "you are not supposed to take it seriously". I totally get you on the it's not that serious topic - except that it wasn't a fun era for me lol, it was just too on the nose that it ended up feeling annoying, more than the first part.
But past the initial disappointment I'll just go back to listen to what I like from Kim's catalog lol. HHH has a very nice instrumental, I would've loved it if it was a completely different track tbh. Same for a couple more songs.

Are we though? It’s been 4 years already with no quality music and seems like she prefers to release the same fan made beats with orangutan level lyrics like “fuck, fuck, suck, cum, cum” or “put my coconuts in ur mouth” 
 
I consider myself quite open minded when it comes to sex and artist being open about those topics… but she really made me uncomfortable, it’s just nasty in the worst sense. The gag noises for real make me want to vomit! What next?

I hate hate HATE internalized transphobia but I think that we need, at the same time, be aware what was the reason of this breakdown and how poorly she was treated by the industry. Slutpop Kim was 100% made by her label to be her and Slayyyter’s knockoff. This is super fucked up.

I'm glad she was able to, and publicly, be honest with herself about her issues and her mental headspace and just her thoughts on what has been going on. 
 
Its so hard when you are a creative / business type person, your identity really becomes your work and so then your self worth really becomes defined by your success which is a really vicious mental space to be in. 
 
She definitely needs to stay off twitter. Just post her music updates and close it. And its easier said than done but obviously she needs to get off of hard drugs. 
 
She is so extremely talented its so frustrating that she has all of these obstacles in her way.

With Starfucker release and now No Comma teaser we are really seeing the difference between the two in terms of artistry. Slayyyter has an extremely clear creative vision and is actually able to take inspirations and make something new with them.
 
Its clear Slayyyter has a passion for music and creating. Kim just seems to want to be rich and famous and will doing anything she desperately can to get there. She wants to be a pop star without making the pop.
