i mean it's pretty but it's also inherently temporary... like ur gonna eat it, maybe that has something to do with the meaning?

I wish she hadn’t released all singles from side A.. because now I’m always tempted to start album from side B just to hear new stuff (and because sweet is my least favourite track it gets forgotten about too)

Fishtail might have the worst lyrics on the album but when she says for me you're the one and if i'm not the one for you don't you say it? goosebumps

This could be true, but the point is it shouldn’t really matter at this point I guess. Like at this point most Celebs did questionable things during quarantine😭 the mesh mask is forever camp tho

I was just listening to ‘Kintsugi’ and ‘Sweet,’ and I’m very surprised Lana has not written music for broadway before. With ‘Fingertips,’ with how it almost sounds spoken word – it gives off those  half-singing/half-spoken word vibes of dialogue in the musical “Evita.” I mean, even listening to ‘Arcadia’; the song literally sounds like a triumphant theater piece as well.

i actually like how jack sings his verse in margaret...
also i'm hyperfixating on "and you think about who will be with you / and then there's donoghue"

Has been ruminating in my head for a while now, but here is my fancast for the natural blood-stained blond twink Willoughby Tucker

I'm in love with how complex this album is. I feel like with every listen i digest it more. There are more songs i like than others, but I feel it's an album u have to listen to all the way through to understand it.

I don't mind it's wordy-ness, bc I love hearing her speak. I also adore that it's very particular to her fans. Like if u don't know Lana's story and own every album, you won't understand this album or its references.

    My stand out songs are:

    The Grants
    Ocean blvd
    A&W
    Juda Interlude
    Candy Necklace
    Jon Batiste Interlude
    Fingertips
    Grandfather pls
    Let the Light in
    Fishtail
    Peppers

This album makes me feel sad, like a bad bitch, and like im there in the room present with them - hanging out like we're friends.

With this album, I feel like it's a new genre from what she was doing; although it's poetic and wordy, the production is super cinematic. I love the combo of her poetry with the cinematic production. It's almost as if she is singing to us on the set of a musical that only contains soliloquies.

With this album and how its been composed, my reflection on COCC and BB is that they were sister albums, and none of the songs on Ocean blvd are anything like that. She says she doesn't have a vision for where she is going, but me thinks she does know, and it was very clear with this .

Also fishtail gives me lykke li vibes

I had to revive my account just to vote in this thread and say that this album outdid honeymoon for me I never thought that would EVERRR happen. I've only listened to it twice (once each on my green and dark pink vinyl) and I still feel disoriented like a bomb dropped out of the speakers. Like putting it on is an experience and I couldn't imagine just having it play in the background. The fact that I put on side C and didn't know what was about to happen to my psyche. Fingertips altered the structure of my brain

Someone said it the other day but I think candy necklaces symbolizes the “violet blue green red” pills her man takes. (Referencing cinnamon girl) and that’s why she references cinnamon on her teeth in candy necklaces. I think her starting the song with that reference is bringing the listener back to that story / moment she sang about before.
I think the dark element of the song is how she’s getting sucked in to the darkness of his addiction and his bad boy ways and his wildness. She’s obsessed but she knows it’s bringing her down.
