yep and it's also one of the tightest, like traditionally structured with a hook and such so it's very palatable (still a great song) compared to a lot of the songs on here that through structure out the window lol

i think youre getting way too hung up on judah smith himself/his church or whatever- i could care less about the guy lmao, what is interesting to me is what is said & Lana's choice to include it right after A&W...like that says a lot. & i think thats where the feminist standpoint could easily come in.

like no one is saying *he's* a feminist or anti capitalist, they're saying Lana's artistic choice can be interpreted that way

but anyways, it's not black or white, its obv nuanced & i get the people who appreciate it less too

i wish the first part was like a full song and thennn the venice bitch remix could be put on the end of that

So many people hating the Judah interlude and skipping it on reactions…

I am personally very anti-religion and all the church stuff, but the interlude wasn’t at all as bad as I expected. The production makes it very eerie, it sounds like a movie scene, and what he’s saying isn’t that bad as well - if you take out the whole “god and bible” aspect of it - he’s talking about trying to live a better life, live in the moment, appreciate things around himself and not chase after more materialistic things.

and the ending is very reflective of the album itself - Lana’s preaching is not about us, it’s about her. The interlude is a key part of understanding this album and people who’re skipping it are missing out, I said what I said

Exactly! But I guess that « cancelling your vinyls » is more dramatic  (needless to say that some of her fans really are intense drama queens  )

Musically, the end of Taco Truck is my absolute favourite moment of the album… I’d take three additional minutes of that.

Yeah it’s definitely a big statement and I like 100% see where people are coming from when they say it makes them uncomfortable

Me or my family was never religious ever, but I went to a catholic school my life and I definitely saw how terrible the religious pressure was for a lot of people. like you said, borderline felt like conversion therapy for some people, especially when it’s coming from family as well.

So while I’m able to listen to it mindlessly and enjoy  the haunting nature of it, it could definitely trigger something negative in a lot of people. however simply just skip it idk like hide it on spotify or something

I truly am not part of the whole « let’s unstan her because of religion » squad at all, and she has every right to believe to in whatever she wants, and her albums are her own, but this interlude is her heaviest « religion statement » ever. Before that, religion was channeled, often twisted like in Tropico or Gods and Monsters, or could be more related to spirituality than religion.
i understand what she went for with the interlude and it is unsettling (even PTSD for someone, like me, who was miserable in church for many years - borderline in conversion therapy).
like you said, I’ll probably always skip it or might listen to it a couple of times. Maybe if it hasn’t been that long it would have helped (make it like 3 minutes and a half like the Jon Batiste one).

I'm so glad she included the last 3 tracks to close the album, i've seen a lot of reviewers say it should've ended with Margaret or Let the light in, and Jon Denton said the last 3 tracks felt like bonus tracks but i personally think they breathe a lot of fresh air and life into the record. The album needed some fun because otherwise it would've felt too serious imo.
I like starting the album knowing that there's a tasty treat towards the end, it wouldn't be a proper main course without the desert now would it.
Hands on your knees i'm angelina jolie bitch!

Paris, Texas trending on Tik Tok is surprising and then again, I NEVER thought The Other Woman would be a « hit » for her and on Tik Tok of all places

uhh I have to take a break from this album already I think, because I'm afraid I might be on the verge of overplaying it lol  I don't wanna get tired of it after barely two days
(I will probably end up listening to it in full tomorrow or in just a few hours but oh well )

Well, if any of y'all haven't gone out and bought the album, or have been on the fence about a vinyl or tape, show our girl some luvvvv!

    100k + 8.3 BNM would be a total win.
