I'm serious here- nothing more rejuvenating than putting your toes/ feet in the water when you are there.
Even if the temperature is in the teens, just stay for a few seconds/minute.
The water temperature today is 53degrees Fahrenheit which is  11.7 degrees celsuius  (Wednesday, Thursday Friday will be cold outside temps)
(and don't forget to take a picture).
You'll thank me. (it's legal by the way even if "THEY"  try to tell you no).

    episode 8 sucked

in fact, if not for Joan Collins & Jessica Lange, and Jennifer Lynch directing, this whole season sucks.
(as does recently rewatching 16 candles, John Hughes is a disgrace to society. Yet he was an icon???)

and the irony is- Episode 8 of Jennifer Lynch's dad, David, in Twin Peaks 2017 was the greatest episode in tv history
(or tied with the last episode of Twin Peaks 2017)

    What year is this?

this thread will enable these type of posts to not intrude on other non- political, non-USA, threads for those posters that do not wish to have politics intrude
(even though Lana herself has become quite political and is obviously now a Democratic party voter).

This is about the USA Democratic party and the 50 US states, Washington DC & Five US territories that all wlil vote in primaries & some caucus (but many less than last time). It is thought that there will be 4763 delegates with 2382 needed and the Democratic party has an allotment of delegate system NOT a winner take all
in each contested state/territory & DC. Most anyone can run (with the requirement being one has to be 35 on Jan. 21,2021 (so for instance Alexandria Ocasio Cortez cannot run in this election (but could in 2024 or 2028,etc.)

and the  same requirement for the VP pick the candidate will choose.

This thread will be edited as the time goes along in the next 2 years plus.

For now, some of the candidates I myself would definitely vote for are

    California Senator Kamala Harris
    Mass. Senator Elizabeth Warren
    Wisc Senator Amy Klobucher
    Oprah Winfrey
Caroline Kennedy (but most certainly not any male Kennedy)
    Michelle Obama
Cecile Richards (known enough on her own, but to those that don't know, daughter of Ann Richards who was really smeared by the Bush family)
    Eric Holder
    Former Mass. Gov Deval Patrick
Stacey Abrams running for Gov. of Georgia
Former HUD sec. Julian Castro (and/or his twin brother Juaquin)
    California Gov. Jerry Brown
    NY Mayor Mike Bloomberg
    Senator/SOS John Kerry
    VP Al Gore
    NJ Senator Cory Booker
    NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand
    NJ Gov Phil Murphy
    Florida's Andrew Gillum
Most likely not in 2020, but Chelsea Clinton
(and yes I would vote for Hillary should she run).

I figure for the Democratic candidate to win, they are going to need President Obama's core voters, and Hillary's voters.
And IMHO they have to be for wellness, like Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Warren both are (wellness including being against the NRA/guns.)
and that includes Mike Bloomberg who has said he would only run on the Democratic Party line, and he is after all a liberal.

More than ever IMHO it needs to be a female candidate
and one thing I won't vote for is any libertarian, tea party fraud (like any Ron /Rand Paul Deplorable).

wiki has a list of about 85 people (including for some reason those they label as not interested, which is basically not true in most of the cases,
most won't decide for the next few weeks until the end of the year early next year. Will be interesting to see as Iowa/NH are not representative of the Demographics of the Democratic Party, thought is California and South Caroline(and the other Southern State primaries) will be a major factor this time.

(to be continued, want to post this before I mess up and it gets wiped out) and it will be continually updated much like the Born to Die billboard thread.

Note to mods- this is not nor should this be part of the trump thread, as this has nothing to do with trump.
This has to do with the Democratic Party and the issues (yes political issues) important to Democratic Party voters
trump himself may or may not be the nominee of the other party, but he has nothing at all to do with the Democratic party. So please do not move this.
And this may be a thread that takes a few months to get started. Thank you.

How to disappear is one of the greatest protest songs of all time.
Shows how the pitiful deplorable trump man seethes with self-pity, stupidty, and total lack of being able to get it up both proverbially and in their general life, totally
    pathetic losers and pathos

And probably the Apple version is the one that she will sing with just piano (hopefully better than the hack (LOL) that was there)

    Where was Byron @itsMr_Thomas
but if not Byron, one dream that Lana & Elton were to duet on this

the suite of the 3 songs so far are amazing. And 100% Lana. Jack should be happy he is along for the ride.

    Oct. 20, 2018 chart

with Born to Die not being on the 200 this week, Lana falls out of the Top 20 (and with there being five albums that in the next four to six months
that might hit 300 weeks (all male based), odds are the Top 20 is now out of reach, as there are not that many albums above not on the chart.
(She would need a remastered Born to Run with Holiday song so that it remains on the chart all year, the last couple of years Born has dropped off during the Christmas seasonal records and special box sets hitting the chart. That is the only way to consistently pick up weeks.
(Keep in mind Lana had passed the Beatles & AC/DC & Eminem but all 3 recharted and have remained constant on the chart, and there are those albums released after Lana's that now are nearing or above).

    that said-
Still don't quite understand how it is not on the 200, being that
Born to Die is bulleting at #19 on the Alternative album 25 chart after 212 wks on that chart
Born to Die is bulleting at #48 on the Rock 50 album chart after 220 wks on that chart

and amazing is that on the Social 50 chart, Lana is #12, which is the highest she ever was on this chart, being on this chart for 132 wks.

OP updated to include the Sept. 29, 2018 chart

BORN TO DIE returns to the Album200 and now has 314 weeks

Born to die is the biggest sales gain up to #13 out of 25 on the Alternative Album chart and has 209 weeks
Born to die  on the Rock Album chart moves up to #33 out of 50 in its 217 week

Many other charts where both Venice Bitch and Mariners Apartment Complex are on
Venice is #42 on the Pop Dig song sales
Mariners is #13 on the Pop Dig song sales

Venice debuts #10 on the alt digital song sales
Mariners #8 on the Alt Digital song sales

tripleA the duet with Cat Power is #23 in 4 weeks
On the social media chart, Lana reenters at #35 in 131 weeks (where her highest on the social media chart is #14)

notes about the Oct. 13, 2018 chart where Born to Die holds at 314 weeks (unfortunately)

Born to Die is #18 on the Alternative Album Top 25 chart in its 211th week
Born to Die is #45 on the Rock Album Top 50 Chart in its 219th week
Duet with Cat Power is #23 in its 6th week on the TripleA chart

and what would be really cool (but TPTB probably won't allow it) would be the following-

The misogynist rock hall of fame (which should really be retitled the Music Hall of Fame) announced the 15 nominees for the class of 2019 (to be announced in Dec. and given in March 29, 2019 at the Barklays Center in NYC) Only 3 women were on the ballot out of 15.
One of the three is Stevie Nicks, solo. (Fleetwood Mac is already in the Hall). (the other 2 are Janet Jackson and Chaka Khan as the leader of Rufus)

It would be nice if Stevie Nicks would request that Lana Del Rey be one of the people who inducts her into the Hall (should Stevie be one of the inductees when they announce it).

Wouldn't that really be cool? (and that only requires a speech, doesn't require a song).
     ya hear that Stevie?

I think the ship/waves are life itself, and the rough waters is trump and Disappear is a song about the abuses he/them are doing to society itself

but I also think it is possible the entire album will be a suite, an opera where everything is connected in one long piece (which is why I don't want any bonus songs at all)
and that until all the pieces are put together, we won't know

Which like the others make it a chronicle & live time recording of events as seen through her eyes.

btw, the irony of some saying on these threads about R....head, when they copied the Hollies, is that the Hollies song in question (not written by the Hollies anyhow), where a direct copy/style of Elton (IMHO and the opinion of millions of others). Because it was the later Hollies sound, not their original sound that contained Air that I breathe and other songs.

    and-

Like a Bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down ©Paul Simon (who always love/hated Art's hijacking of his song).
