Why did she skip Bittersweet Anthem  I was looking forward to it so badly, someone needs to ask her about that song

Her saying "okay, this one's important" right before the Ocean Blvd bridge

During Salvatore she sang “now you got me going on a song I’m not remeeeemberinggg”
So she doesn’t hate the songs she just don’t bother to know the lyrics.

I love when old threads resurface

i feel like most fans would agree that the may jailer era took place in 2005 and 2006, there are three projects from that era, young like me, an EP which was registered in april, 2005, from the end, an EP which was registered in december, 2005, and sirens, an album which i believe was probably compiled in early 2006, there's not a whole lot which is known about the may jailer era, but we do know that this is an actual stage-name that lana used at the time, there's a photo of the actual CD with a hand-written note by lana which she signed as "may jailer"

there has been quite a bit of discussion about this era in the past few years as there has been more users (including me lol) who are big fans and are fascinated by her earlier music

you can listen to all three of those aforementioned projects using this masterpost created by @That Venice Bitch

i would recommend exploring the website for learning more about that particular period of time, i would recommend the early shows section, since it'll give insight into the transition from may jailer to lizzy grant, you could also look back at old threads that may pertain to the may jailer era

also, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask! i kinda know my stuff about the pre-fame days of lana's career so i will either know the answer or will share my speculations based on what i already know

i don't really see it for lmlylaw. it could just be the overall infatuation and nostalgia that people have for the uv era that make people have a haze about the demo. not to mention that no one was really in love with lmlylaw when it came out? it was kinda just another lana song to wait until chemtrails. i feel like it's also some psychological thing where u always want what u don't have

yosemite is a great example when the song got released but I love it the same as i loves it when i didn't heard it
uv era idk there every song is iconic Unreleased or not, almost every song is a strong contender for the release and wouldnt be spoiled

It's troubling because there no denying this psychological phenomenon. It doesn't make any sense. It's wild to think a lot of fan favorites even so are in fact edited songs or not real at all. So in a way it's an extension of Unreleased Syndrome. Because once the "real" track leaks, fans will say the previously leaked version was worse. What is this called... Is anyone majoring in Pyschology?

i've been saying for a while now that if guns and roses were a leaked track it would be a fan-favorite

i know for thunder the production was actually reworked which completely changed the song for me. i like the roughness of the demo even if it wasn't meant to be heard yet. also nothing can convince me that pink champagne isn't miles ahead lmlylaw

I'm just going to say that the Best American Record demo lyrics are superior by far. I'm a sucker for unreleased music but I rarely prefer it over released stuff, unless a demo is better to me (like BAR).

I think part of it, too, is nostalgia. We get leaks that are usually from an era, or many, prior--and since Lana's sound has changed tremendously through the eras--it takes people back to that time in her career and that time in their life. I think "Melancholia" benefitted from the nostalgia of the UV era immensely, bc it is quite a rough and slightly awkward song.

That said, I agree that false "scarcity" or this idea of "exclusivity" around leaks is what drives the fascination. Look at "Riverside". I'm sure if UFB gets released in 7 years, no one will really bat an eye then either. And if "Candy Necklace" had been the outtake instead, we'd all be begging for that song.

her vocal is so prominent in the livestream like DAMN that's the best she's ever done in a livestream i fear.
her comic moments (late due to her hair, etc.) , the cut off and the video games chanting tho it's chaotically LEGENDARY if you ask me

Yayo's one of those songs that has remained a Lana staple throughout the whole of her musical career, and I love that so much
  21. Dangerous Girl liked a post in a topic by Surf Noir in Somerset, ENG @ Glastonbury Festival - June 24th, 2023
lana used footage from yayo as visuals for her 2011 born to die tour when they used those big balloons, and she also included footage from yayo for the homemade video for blue jeans, and although that was a long time ago, it really seems as though she liked that video  and it certainly is a good music video, it fits the vibe of yayo so well, her homemade videos were so unique, we're honestly so lucky to have them
