Venice Bitch is so old school lana for me but of course evolved and with different production wise

Unpopular opinion but if Jack were to redo a Lana song I would love him to work on Come When You Call Me America in VB style. Urgh. Jazzy folky my mind would explode. I LOVE CWYCMA but sometimes it sounds just too poppy and upbeat and I wish it had more of a TLY/VB vibe

I love how powerful Lana is over her own Label! ''The track is 10 minutes, it's called Venice bitch, why do you do this to us'' --Because, I can, simple as that, I'm Lana del fucking Rey and you can't say shit

I've posted this before but trust me... Listen to LFL in this order and it's a much more cohesive album.

    01. Love
    02. Lust For Life
    03. Groupie Love
    04. Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind
    05. When The World Was At War We Kept Dancing
    06. Heroin
    07. God Bless America
    08. Tomorrow Never Came
    09. Change
    10. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems
    11. Get Free

I tend to use the other tracks as an EP with BAR

    01. 13 Beaches
    02. Cherry
    03. White Mustang
    04. Best American Record

Also I'm 100% here for the album remaining at 11 tracks if they're all amazing. My main issue with LFL was that it was too bloated, it's really hard for me to rate because it has some of her best songs and some of her worst. I'd rather 11 tracks than a longer album with songs I don't like as much - especially if there are some longer tracks on NFR

Really hoping Talking Like An Answering Machine is a song for the record. Where she's being moody about her lover who always sounds bored / distant when he calls.

can't get over this shift. god. in twenty years' time, musicheads will be writing/giving virtual reality TED talks about how del rey's trajectory changed forever with Venice Bitch...
MAC/VB reminds me of the beatles and their movement from pop/boyband into experimental, daredevil territory. it's probably already been said, but still.
honestly i could see the bulk of the album going so many different places!! which is so exciting!! VB is spiritual and airy and refreshing as fuck- it's the loosest production than she's done since, like, Disco. i'm not sure i want collabs on the album- the songs she does have with other ppl usually sound better without them.

A radio edit is basically a song that has been shortened or rearranged, this can include intro, verses, or outro) to remove any "fluff" the target audience may not care about (LFL) or find offensive so it is censored (High by the Beach). However not all radio edits are played on the radio (OTTR).

A radio mix is a song that has been mixed differently usually containing a whole new instrumental and can contain different vocal delivery (Dark Paradise, West Coast). Extended radio mixes can sometime be made as a result of a radio mix (Summertime Sadness).

In most cases, radio edits are in fact produced by the same people since its the same song just structurally altered. While radio mixes, are not always produced by the same people (Dark Paradise).

Oops didn't realize americangothic had answered your question as i was in the middle of typing

Radio edit — is, well, a single edited to be suitable for radio's regulations. It's basically the song shortened (for mainstream/pop radio) when songs are longer than 4:00 minutes. Also, some radio edits sent to certain stations are 'clean versions' that edit 'inappropiate' words that might offend some people, lol. Those are usually referred to as 'clean versions' as well. These ones are produced by the same people who produced the album versions, but edited by the engineers and sometimes even by folks from the radio stations (these ones are usually quite shitty)

Radio mix — a different (or slightly different) version of a single. Usually made for songs that might not be exactly 'radio friendly', thus labels sending these mixes — aiming for a broader audience. They're not that common tho, and nowadays they are quite rare, appearing in a few singles cds and/or random countries as bonus tracks.
These ones might or might not be produced by the same original producers. Take "West Coast" album version, produced by Dan Auerbach, while "West Coast (Radio Mix)" is made by Rick Nowels & co.

Hope it answered your question! I tried my best to be clear lol.

A behind-the-scenes documentary/film would totally make sense. This would also explain why she said that she's thinking about releasing a "standalone" single in October – HIAB might not be on Norman Fucking Roswell, but just a separate single to go along with the film.

I just had a weird theory about this -
It’s obvious the clips were for Happiness is a Butterfly, and Lana recently put the snippet back up on her Instagram.
What if this series is a documentary/music video for HIAB?
Chuck was seen at some LATTM shows recording fans & Lana.
What is the music video contains clips of fans, herself performing on tour, and backstage moments? “Sing it for my babies on the tour life”
I could totally see a behind the scenes documentary slash music video for HIAB with this concept.

What I love the most about Venice Bitch is how it sounds exactly like the songs she used to listen on her highway videos and stories on Instagram. It's exactly the kinda of music she loves and listens when she's alone. I bet she's so happy and satisfied with her own art!

I'd like to just take a second to shout out and thank the piloting instructor who made Lana question her self-trust, thank you. She seems so self assured, confident, unwavering, and focused with this album thus far. It's a beautiful thing and I'm totally here for it.

I'm so in love with these songs, and all the creative decisions she's making -- I've never been so excited for an album, nonetheless one by Lana.

I have so many thoughts right now

Like, as much as I loved LFL, it seems like such an anticlimax compared to this. It's fun enough to listen to, but it really does feel empty compared to what she's given us here, already. I already love this for the same reasons I love AKA so damn much: it's Lana pursuing what she's passionate about, creating extremely unique, layered music. There's thought, soul, and inspiration behind it, and it shows.

As for how strongly the era is already dividing the fans, I think it's brilliant. I haven't seen such outrage or vitriol directed at Lana for her creative choices since Born to Die, and I think it's absolutely amazing this time around, because she's consciously making provocative decisions. Like, you can't title an album Norman Fucking Rockwell without knowing it's going to give you some hell. This is the same woman, the same provocateur, that once raised eyebrows in the extreme for opening a track with the line "My pussy tastes like Pepsi-Cola". She's back.

I love that, especially with Venice Bitch, she's returning to that idea of nostalgia and classic Americana that we haven't seen in years and years, but as someone here said (apologies that I can't remember who), it's matured. She's become the most adept at writing in her own style that she's ever, ever been, successfully combining her starry-eyed view of the past and America (hence the reference to Rockwell, who painted an idealistic, wholesome America) with the reckless abandon and controversial attitude that made her famous in the first place, which leads us to the big ol' "fucking" slapped right in the middle of the name of an American icon.  It's heart without excessive sentimentality, and attitude without bitterness.

I think these things combined (and things we have yet to see) will propel NFR to classic-level, like Born to Die or moreso -- maybe not in terms of widespread fan adoration, but in terms of being a stylish, smart, thoughtful and timeless record.
