I still haven't reflected fully on the album. But my bitchy lil ass has lots of thoughts on the production.

I think Jack has made some basic mistakes in terms of overseeing mixing and production but I still can't get over how clumsy Rick Nowels is at producing her tracks. The static noise on the vocals in Bartender are so obvious that it really detracts from the song (this was also the case for songs on LFL and HM like Heroin and Honeymoon). Surely someone would listen to the final master before saying 'ok hit publish'.

This is also the case on BAR, which I really like, but I wish it had just been on LFL or released separately since sonically it just does not fit with NFR. It is essentially the sister track to 13 Beaches in terms of production - even the sequencing patches used on the bridge that Kieron Menzies programmed for 13 Beaches is shared in both tracks. Probably just an unfortunate series of her probably regretting cutting it, annoyed at having it leaked, and doubting her choice of lyrics. Overall it doesn't matter, it's out now and it's not like she'll ever revisit it or sing it live but STILL.

It's not my favorite but Doin' Time is the most exciting track on the album. Really sumptuous production, vibrant patches, interesting instrumentation and thoughtful and dexterous use of her vocals.

Imagine a soft beachy album with songs like Wayamaya but produced by Brian Wilson? My heart wouldn’t be able to handle it. Even haunting jazzy stuff like OSCYS would work with that concept. Maybe I just really want a Brian Wilson produced Lana album.

And I’m so happy you have love for HTD because yes it’s so nostalgic and I’d be here for a whole album like that someday. It kinda gives me Fleetwood Mac vibes though so maybe I’m biased.

I really love HTD..both the versions. The album version is just stellar. I love the production, the violins. It's like a time travelling thing. It takes you back to ages ago and makes u imagine about alot of stuff like musicians playing in a castle courtroom etc.

"Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

A album with songs like Season of the witch ,Wayamaya, Florida Kilos or Oh say you can see would be amazing. Taste really entered the Thread again

Oh say you can see is one of her best songs. I really enjoy Pawn Shop Blues too. These two songs are heartbreaking

I'd love for her to utilize the acoustic guitar again like she did on Pawn Shop Blues.

And Oh say you can see it just perfection although it is not what she seems to be into nowadays

An album with a PSB/OSCYS sound would be godly. Some of my absolute favorite works from Lana are her older material, and really just anything that features guitar, so I'd love to see her go that direction for WHF.

too bad she hasn't had the range to make music that powerful in five years

If I Recall Correctly she said in an interview (before UV came out) that that album will have more guitar instrumentation, so she is thinking about using it sometimes...although we did get PWYC in the end so she did not lie about that.

"your favourite liquor off the top shelf" is my favorite line on the album, i just love the desperation in her voice as she says it, its almost like she's even willing to resort back to drinking alcohol again if it means getting him back and going crazy together, i love that - its such a great moment

I know she has a reference to ladies of the canyon in Bartender, but this song reminds me of the album by Joni Mitchell. I think it could've belonged to this album.

I'll do it for the right reasons
