Hahaha

I'd prefer Monica Narano

Don't know, sometimes she surprises. Surely not a very probable thing to happen, but maybe . I think it would be a beautiful thing.

Yeah, I'm living in the UK rk and have elderly relatives here. Needless to say, they are particularly concerned as he is essentially looking to "cull" these vulnerable groups and has released a public statement that many families should prepare to "lose their loved ones". There have also been many budget cuts to the NHS, so it will struggle to cope if things progress (which is likely). The health secretary is talking about quarantining all those over 70, and I'm really worried about one of my relatives in particular who lost his wife recently. He is very lonely, and even little things like going grocery shopping help with his mental health. He is 87 and has a breathing condition, so I don't want him to catch this and suffer. However, the mental suffering will also take a toll on him and he is such a kind, giving person that it hurts to see him confused and upset like this. However, all we can do is take things one day at a time and utilize technology such as skype. It's not the same- but better than nothing and adaptation is key. Also, to anyone that is a UK citizen or holds dual citizenship, signing petitions is a small way to let our voices be heard. I'll link some below if anyone's interested:

Also, Caroline Polachek has posted to her insta stories presenting with coronavirus like symptoms. Hope she gets better soon, and hope all those who attended her concerts in London aren't badly affected.

Oh shit.... I am shocked.  :O

I went and did some searches on Google for "Boris Johnson herd immunity"

and read about 15 diferent newspapers and websites. Seen a  few videos about this UK action against the virus.

It is completely absurd.

Ridiculous and beyond logic.

Is this Boris guy really in charge of the government in the United Kingdom ?

I feel very sorry for all you British citizens.  Also for all other non-citizens living in the UK.

Infecting and Killing off about half of the UK population (or more) to stop a virus ??

OH ... MY...  GOD...

" Boris Johnson and his team of scientific advisers revealed on Thursday that the aim of the Government's
approach is to slow the progress of the virus as it sweeps through the population, rather than following other
countries in immediately shutting schools or banning public gatherings.

But chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance said around 60 per cent of the population - 40 million people -  will
need to catch the virus to build up a national tolerance strong enough to stop the virus circulating. "

You might as well start building concentration camps like the Nazis did , and start putting people in them.

This is insane.

He gained a massive majority in the December election - well in England and Wales, my country didn't vote for that buffoon but we're still in this shitting union for now. However, we have brought this on ourselves because it's not like we had all the knowledge in the world of how terrible a person and politician he is. They really are fucking over the vulnerable, elderly and our NHS to play out an experiment.

Thank you for the well wishes :)

I agree with all the above, and the other ironic thing is that Boris' current partner is pregnant! And it was his parent's money that sent him to the most prestigious school (Eton) which likely allowed him the connections to become a leading politician.

Anyways, let us respect the wisdom of our elders, many of whom survived WWII or much worse.

Good to know that we have solidarity in Lana fans across the globe :) Maybe this our "modern manifesto", "doing it for those who never got the chance" e.g. the vulnerable members of society who are often most affected in these scenarios. To paraphrase the famous quote, "First they came for the socialists- and I did not speak out because I wasn't a socialist" "Then they came for me- and there was no one left to speak for me". I try my best not to judge by race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, political affiliations... we are all flesh and blood. I am no less than the queen and no more than the man living under the bridge.

The true heroes are the people standing up for each other- when I see the selflessness of healthcare workers on the front line I am reminded of what makes life worth living: the indomitable human spirit. That's something that the politicians can't take away from us.

To anyone self-isolating, find a youtube video with a valid code for audible and download that book you've been putting off reading. Allthemed docs on youtube have some interesting documentaries. Now's the time to explore that niche interest you're too busy to look into on a daily basis. Light a candle, drink plenty of fluids, stay safe <3

That school shut also Eton for 6 weeks or something, wouldn't want rich people spreading the virus around themselves.

I've went back to my parents place and I already regret it, I can't stand my dad and he takes the situation extremely lightly. My sister is coming back from the Uk tomorrow with her PS4, before Paris goes on total lockdown. My school still fears I have the virus. What a situation. I wanna go home.

Have been working for a huge European hotel chain and from this week on our working hours will be drastically reduced. As almost everything
closes (restaurants, bars, shops), events, concerts and fairs won't happen in the next weeks, hardly nobody books trips and hotels.
It's also possible we have to completely stay at home for a while. Our management thinks this situation will continue at least until June - September.
As Germany has one of the most comprehensive welfare systems, most of us (talking about colleagues and myself) won't have any financial problems.
The employment agencies will support German enterprises by transferring aid money. Our hotel will pay this money to us at the end of the month.
This way they try to avoid dismissals.
It will be less money of course and people have to tighten the belts but at least we can pay our rent and groceries.
I don't know about other enterprises and other European countries but I hope they will be as lucky as my colleagues and me!
In general I hope this won't cause a financial ruin for people.
The situation is grave and I really can't stand people who still claim the coronavirus is nothing but a media hype or a stupid flu.

Most important thing now is it to stay healthy...
...and positive which isn't always easy. I do workouts at home, reading books, listening to music, drawing portraits.
Things I hardly have time for while working full time.

Hope you are all safe and will stay healthy!

The fact that Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Nike, Apple, GAP, etc have closed their stores, and (at least UO and GAP still paying their employees) yet American Eagle is staying open and currently changed their in-store promotions to a better one than Black Friday DISGUSTS me

Sickens me

So my classes were suspended until next month. And since I lost my job recently I guess I'll have these entire weeks to keep working on my upcoming album (I already finished 2 songs today) and of course I'll train hard at the gym! :)

I am trying my best to stay positive in light of this but... that guardian article is really scaring me. I can’t drive anywhere because I was in a car accident last month that damaged my car, I have a long-term health condition that requires me to travel for treatment(which will be impossible for the next year probably),I’m currently sharing a house with someone who’s in denial (aka “no worse than flu”) and is extremely controlling/unkind and I couldn’t bear the thought of living without my closest family member, who I fear will suffer if they contract this. And to see the complacency of the UK gov... We need to act now or we could be the next Italy. Truly not trying to spread negativity or be all “me me me”.

I can’t even imagine how much worse so many others have it right now :(
