Beauty King 1,838 Posted February 7, 2020 Is “The Man I Love” real or is the “Trash Magic” demo real? I’ve never gotten a definitive answer on this. "The Man I Love" is a fanmade edit. The demo of "Trash Magic" is an official, real song.
necessary sacrifice 8,866 Posted February 7, 2020 "The Man I Love" is a fanmade edit. The demo of "Trash Magic" is an official, real song. Oh okay, thanks! I’ve heard so many people claim either way that I didn’t know what to believe. I figured people here would know best.

takeitdoen 10,630 Posted February 7, 2020 Friend just showed me this: https://youtu.be/TEVGLXVhhns I can hear Old Money in it. Thoughts? /Was this already known? Yes, she said this in the Ultraviolence track by track discussion. The original publishers hold a percentage of the songs proceeds. From Lana del Rey Wiki: [Old Money] is a melodic and lyrical development of the song "Methamphetamines" which in itself is melodically based on "What Is a Youth" (or "Love Theme From Romeo and Juliet") by Nino Rota.

Yes indeed Takeitdoen. The melody sounds very familiar. I was going to say it dated from a 1950s song, but its actually from a 1969 song. from - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Theme_from_Romeo_and_Juliet "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet", also known as "A Time for Us", is an instrumental arranged by Henry Mancini (from Nino Rota's music written for Franco Zeffirelli's film of "Romeo and Juliet", starring Leonard Whitingand Olivia Hussey). It was a number-one pop hit in the United States during the year 1969. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on June 28, 1969, and remained there for two weeks; it was also his only Top Ten single on that chart. Rearranged by Mancini, the song started competing with rock and roll songs from The Beatles and the Rolling Stones on an Orlando, Florida radio station and spread from there. It faced stiff opposition from some radio stations for being too soft. Those stations had to change their mind when the song became number one, ending the five-week run of "Get Back" by the Beatles as the top song. This release also topped the U.S. easy listening chart for eight weeks where it was Mancini's sole number one on the chart. The score was taken for Lana Del Rey’s song Old Money for her third studio album Ultraviolence. 0 Quote -

maxthehitman 1,731 Posted February 16, 2020 Was this a thing? I have no idea, I am not that much of a star-snoop. What I mean is, I dont care what other people do in (and with) their private lives, as long as they keep their mind together and don´t self-destruct. We have all seen too many good people and fine musicians self-destruct in the past. So what´s the problem if Lana may have done some little illegal stuff, that is her life (no one is an angel) , but this rant-post by this guy Bradley Soileu is just unbelievable. It seems he has some type of big-time grudge against our favorite Lady. To me, he seems to be in need of some medication to cool off. https://imgur.com/RrLXY I don´t care ! ... that post was made in Uploaded Nov 20 2012 0 Quote -

takeitdoen 10,630 Posted February 17, 2020 After Harvey Weinstein was exposed for being a freak, a lot of outlets reported on Cola and how Lana had retired it. But a lot of them say that she changed original lyrics. This exact from Vanity Fair: According to an anonymous and impossible to verify source speaking to Page Six, the original lyrics to “Cola“ included the line “Harvey’s in the sky with diamonds and he’s making me crazy. All he wants to do is party with his pretty baby.” At Weinstein’s alleged insistence, the “Harvey“ part was changed to “Ah, he,“ though the song remains about a relationship with an older, married man ??? Am I going crazy? I can still hear her sing HARVEY. The H and V are extremely prominent. Did a bunch of these papers just not actually listen to the song, or am I legitimately hearing it totally wrong?

She definitely says Harvey, but I believe in later live versions she changes it to the “ah, he’s in the sky,” but I’m sure she stopped performing Cola shortly after. You can check the lyric booklets though and the lyric is written as “ah he’s in the sky”
