this music video is iconic and it's such a lizzy grant kitschy vibe, it's quite interesting how it's similar to this era, with the swimming pool, and the rollerskating, but the cotcc aesthetic is a little more refined and subdued, not as bright and campy, i'd love to see a colorful, surfy aesthetic for a future project, something that's very 80s, 90s, & y2k

i mean to look at it in a positive light... the silence and mystery is making me more excited for chemtrails because we really don't know what most tracks sound like AT ALL.

i also like to tell myself that she's quiet because it's a subtle, quiet release for her most vulnerable, beautiful, heartbreaking, soul searching magnum opus

i think as soon as i learned that she wrote dark but just a game after that party and whatnot i became less excited for it, not that i'm NOT excited for it but i'm not a huge fan of pure i-hate-LA-celebrities-suck vibes (it can sometimes be kind of unrelatable and flat)... i like a little something else there too (like i-hate-LA-take-me-to-the-midwest is great).

 

i just don't want it to be a one-note song. but i have faith it won't be and i'm just being ridiculous and keeping my expectations low

My personal bar is so high for "Dark But Just A Game" and "Not All Who Wander" and I know they will be the "How To Disappear" and "Happiness is a Butterfly" of COTCC for me
