TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

Recommended Posts

Me and @Fart Deco had a moment where our idea for the album cover was the same earlier in this thread and although this is not quite the same idea we had, I decided to make this!

The reason why everyone else is standing in horror at the sight of their precious country club burning and why Lana is getting away on a golf cart with a slightly unbothered expression is meant to represent the chaos of the culture that she said she kind of knew would erupt in the Interview Magazine interview with Jack. She’s essentially realizing and renouncing the rhetoric that’s been a disservice to her that only NOW people are waking up to.

I’m hoping we get a similar kind of narrative where she’s talking about how she’s telling her own story and realizing her own differences from what’s percolating in the ether currently. Hope you like it! :)

sources that were at the set said they used a lot of green screens so i think this one will take a lot of work post-production wise :creep:

considering the director she's working with, I hope there is some cool post-production

but there's still an actual beautiful set

it's not like it was shot in a room only in front of a green screen and everything was added in

I absolutely LOVE this one, it embodies the chaotic energy COCC has been giving me :mariah: amazing work!

I'm bored so I also decided to make a cover art (of course I don't expect the real one to look anything like that)cocc-official-final.pngcocc-vynil1.png

I love this!! Definitely feels like an updated AKA aesthetic but with that Oklahoma “down home” feel! I hope we get that rustic feel with the album’s actual visuals!

BTW I was also thinking that it's possible part of the video was shot already earlier if it's not featuring her in every single scene (like Love MV)

we only know she was on the set that weekend but it doesn't have to be the only thing that was shot (and in that case, her hairstylist / makeup artist / etc might not know anything)

But either way, Lana and her team are both promoting the magazine, which says later this month, without saying anything about it not being true.

I'm sure someone would adress it if otherwise

Having faith in Lana and her team... in this economy?? :defeated:

my only fear is that she's not addressing that deadline because they're still working it out and she doesn't necessarily have an alternative release date she can fully confirm, so it'd be even more unprofessional to say something akin to "well hello guys so I guess it might not come this month after all and if nothing happens then you should expect my record on October or November" :thumb3:

i hope the cover wont be as messy as nfr monstrosity

I like that she put a lot of symbolism on that cover (eg LA on fire) but imho a simple and more elegant shoot like BTD, P, UV and LFL (maybe with a less creepy smile, like the back cover is sooooo pretty) would look better if she can't avoid making it look messy

otoh, the other choice would be serving a full mess, "overactive, eccentric mind" cover :defeated:

I feel like actual cover will either be really simple and just a portrait of her or something really eclectic with lots of metaphors, symbolism, and intense imagery going on.

I think it’s going to be the latter, since she got BRTHR to direct the video for the title track and they’re always doing the most, and after the NFR cover, I think she’s going to continue down the route of having the covers be more self-fulfilling in an prophetic kind of way - especially with a record that’s coming out during this time of her life when she’s expressed having so many revelations in the last year.
