The song is really good and it already showcases the sound variety we'll hear on this album, but I do hope that the unintelligible delivery/vocal mixing is kept to a minimum on the rest of the record--deciphering lyrics can be fun, but it's even more fun hearing her beautiful voice & carefully crafted lyrics loud and clear.

I feel so bad for newer fans who don’t have the lived experience of being a longtime fan of Lana - because having witnessed the trajectory of her career and the direct culmination of that into these new songs (A&W especially) is just so satisfying.
 

I hope that doesn’t read as condescending because I really mean it in the way that this record isn’t just a mere ninth album release. It’s the result of deliberating on years of LDR lore - the two new songs (and likely this new record entirely) will reframe existing conceptions we’ve had about LDR’s world.

Exactly! Every single album plays an important part in the story she's telling, and I can't wait to see how everything comes together on the full album. This one really feels monumental

I know someone who is a newer Lana fan, I actually helped her get into some of her work and anyways yesterday at 7:00PM she texted me “yess new lana single” and she found out it dropped at that moment. Which I get, people have lives, but she didn’t know that it was going to come out or when it did drop. She also doesn’t know any of the lore or really anything about the Lizzy Grant days. Tracks, especially like The Grants, she’s not going to know who Chuck, Charlie, Rob, Alana, Sveta, Hunter, etc are. Already with A&W, the mention of her mom just goes over her head.

i'm lowkey getting mad at people who think anything on chemtrails/bb is better than A&W, and i know its irrational because everyone has their own opinions lol but this song is literally revolutionary for lana, i've never heard a song like this before
