I will never understand why someone would spend so much energy on something so negative. You should have gone for a run or to the gym or whatever. It's the Internet, if you don't like something just close your browser window and you don't have to bother other people's lives with your bitter life. :peace: because ->  nobody-cares.gif

Anyway, let me stay on topic... I think trpws will be something completely different from what we've heard so far. And it doesn't bother me at all that we know almost nothing about this album. I'm looking forward to the surprise. It's Lana fuckin Del Rey - it's going to be great as always

I don’t know if she will ever revisit that sound. Seems like she prefers a more lowkey sound these days. But I agree, I miss the atmosphere of Honeymoon. Each song felt like a whole environment.

this is very interesting because even though i love her recent sound as well as the 2012-2017 sound, the old songs really made us dive into the music because we were brought to the most atmospheric music ever. she created worlds, universes using production. and i do think that what’s lacking is that she thinks that she needs to get rid of that to have more stripped down and simple songs. and that’s not necessary. yosemite is really stripped down but still makes us dive into her little world. i miss that. somebody needs to tell her that it’s possible to be simple and still atmospheric!

"Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

She should go full norteña instead and try and get some of that pie from the new regional mexicano wave tbh :true:

LDR 10 - The right person will stay

my opinion:

i hope she does something different this album, and don’t get me wrong i loved her last few albums and “did you know […]” is my favorite album by her. However i also do think it’s time for a new chapter — a completely new chapter I don’t want it to sound like “born to die” or “ultraviolence” nor do i want it to sound like “norman fucking rockwell”, don’t get me wrong these albums are all amazing but they had their moment!

I want something surprising, and yes, also a minimalist-sounding album can do that for me but in lana’s case not really, she headed towards the simple country sound ever since “norman fucking rockwell” but never really elevated it. And even though I’m exited for the new album and I don’t rely my opinion on an not even released album on an insider, I hope that this album surprises us all. I want big beautiful visuals, I want music videos as big as the “Love” music video, i want her to be “Lana Del Rey” true to herself but still that exciting and mysterious artist we all know.

i recently saw a picture of her at a “lust for life listening party”, she had a big smile on her face, and she looked proud of the work she created. I want that smile on her face back for “the right person will stay”! I think she is capable of doing her best work in the next 5-10 years if she’s just doing what she’s doing the best creating a magical world for the album with visuals and sound.

Pretty much agree with all of you said. Minimal production is tricky because if the lyrics don’t click or the melody isn’t all that, then there’s nothing else to rely on with the song, for you to love it. Like I’ve said many times, Carmen and Art Deco aren’t lyrics I connect to at all (nothing in my life resonates with them), but I don’t skip them either because both productions are amazing. The songs I don’t care about lyrically on COcC and BB, well it’s hard not to skip them. There aren’t that many but still.
