Is there a way to listen to the deluxe tracks, other than The-Site-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named (I think Canada took it down)? My box set is still on its way:crossed:

Édit: nvm they are both on YouTube though probably not for long.

The outro of Oceanic Feeling is like the epilogue to the whole album, not just the song. People are asking if the album is cringe or satire, but for me it's a bit of both, deliberately so. She's exploring these kind of cheesy wellness tropes that she's partially satirizing but also admiring them because she it's hard to fault anyone who's able to find enlightenment in this dark world, even when the methods seem silly to the rest of us. The outro of the song is kind of like her revealing her cards, showing us that she's not quite the character she's inhabited throughout the album but she is genuinely on the path to finding her own version of peace and calm.

oh, thank you for this! i'm going to give the album another listen soon with this in mind. i didn't pay attention to the lyrics of oceanic's outro, have just been too focused on how nice it sounds :sluttybunny:

imo the most criminal part about this record is the fact that it's released right at the end of summer :cryney:

Well, in the Southern Hemisphere, their spring-summer is coming, so it’s a compromise I guess

Just listened to the bonus tracks and Hold No Grudge put me in a really good mood. HNG>HOT girlies where u at :beyonce: :kris:

I also prefer Hold No Grudge to HOT, and both are way better than tracks 7-8-9-10 on the standard édition.

Personal songs of Lorde's about smoking marijuana or saying no to the Californian stardom life is not something that an average listener is gonna relate to and without interesting or catchy sonical background it makes listening harder/worthless. I understand the decision to dedicate an album to healing in nature, but she could experiment more with the production and go more Bjork/iamamiwhoami route instead of another Jack Antonoff boring guitar-filled stuff.

I totally agree with you, and even though I loved this album, I think you're right, specially when her breakout was Royals, a song about... well, being common and not relating to that lifestyle at all?
