finally listened to solar power. im sure my opinion's been said to death but ill say it anyway lol a lot of it sounds pretty similar but i also love the vibe and feeling it gives. i listened to the deluxe all the way through and it didn't even feel like a whole 50mins went by

I've had seasons where I like to listen to it and I appreciate the whole album, but sadly they're not been too many as I wished. But it definitely feels a very slow burn type of album. Not her magnum opus, but a good listen every now and then for sure.

omg me neither and a couple years ago i would go to like multiple of her shows on tour, buy merch and albums, and like i still love her and have listened to some of it... but i haven't hit play and listened to it straight through still

melodrama is her best album… if you do ever listen to it put the volume very high

I do agree Melodrama is her best album, but I overplayed in 2017-2019 and I still haven't wanted to play it again

Yeah, Secrets is very cringey overall.

To me, the ones I always like to hear are Stoned, The Path, Mood Ring, Fallen Fruit and the bonus tracks. California and Oceanic Feeling too. The rest I gotta be in the mood, and then we have Secrets

 Same, excluding the Bonus tracks and Oceanic feeling.

 

Lorde has always banked majorly on production...cannot get into SP which is sparsely produced.

Saw Lorde last night and she was great and the stage set up is fantastic. I’m still not a fan of Solar Power (except the title track, Mood Ring and Stoned at the Nail Salon) but damn it still was a great show!

Tried giving Solar Power another chance since it's warm and summery again. Got high, listened, and still most songs gave me nothing... You don't know how badly I want this album to grow on me  Melodrama was literally the soundtrack to my teenage years and I can still listen to the album in full without being tired. I wasn't expecting a Melodrama 2.0 or anything, but I was just expecting an album I would enjoy   Maybe in 2025

anyways the album has some really good moments and some really flat ones, not a pure or a melo but she’s cute
