I feel like the Mayhem character represents her workahoolic persona. That's why she said in her ELLE interview, that she wish she could have been be advised to not be too hard on herself.

It seems like she wants to chose the right path so that's why she confronts Lady in Red at the end.

I do like the song, specially that pre-chorus! But that last chorus is missing another repetition, i kinda wanted her to go full on gaga crazy on the adlibs… Maybe repeat the Death or Love tonight part a few times 

 

also, she really stepped up in the MV since that mess of Disease… This feels much more well thought and executed (féminas me of Alejandro and i love it)

Even this album rollout, the way she talks about going back to pop and putting pieces of broken mirror reflects this. Notice everyone saying Gaga is back, implying that what she’s been doing for years is not Gaga. 

I definitely think that’s part of the problem but my issue is with the music itself… even Chromatica felt like something “new” even though I didn’t like it. This feels like she’s rehashing her old stuff, and I don’t really care for it. It’s like if Lana started making BTD music again. 
 

i wish Gaga utilized her creativity to push the boundaries of pop music and of her own artistry again instead of just playing it safe

I will never understand why going back to the sound that your fans like and made you popular is a bad thing. I don't ever want to hear Adele's EDM album or Britney's Jazz album...like what are you all even talking about here? If this was her 7th album with the same sound that would be a problem (see Katy Perry) but she put this sound to rest for 12 years so I don't see how it's tiring or same old.

I don't see comparisons to her old sound, but more to how “cool” the old Gaga was, and Abracadabra definitely has that vibe. There's no way you'll hear anything like Abracadara's verses and bridge in her old material, it's fresh and new for Gaga.

i just looooove how full and intricate the song is, especially in the current pop landscape where tiktok-ability is favoured over grandiosity - don't get me wrong, a song doesn't have to be grandiose to be fantastic (i mean hello im a may jailer stan) but to have this level of maximalist pop in 2025 feels so damn good
