i didn't like disease, but im really happy with abracadabra! not crazy about the initial synth part, you know the one that comes in at the start and during the post-chorus? which seems to be a v unpopular opinion but to me that part sounds a little cheap? but the rest of the song is just so fun, gorgeously over the top and maximalist, a mix of 80s power pop and mid-2000s eurodance. can't wait to dance to this after a bottle of wine

For "Abracadabra" I can understand why we could compare it to some Ava songs but "Disease" sounds nothing like an Ava song.

"Disease" sounds like "Closer" by NiN with a touch of "Bloody Mary" and "G.U.Y". It's very industrial.

But "Abracadabra" is Euro-techno, Heavy-EDM, with some touch of Goth music. Cirkut produced it so we can hear it the production sonorities ofc... But the structure of the song, the lyrics, the stems and the vocals are nothing near to an Ava song.

You might didn't like these songs but I'm pretty sure that there could be other song on this album that could please you cause she explored different sonorities on each songs.

people comparing anything from MAYHEM to ARTPOP truly shows little people know about genres and music 😭 ARTPOP was EDM. this is literally 90’s house and techno. it’s closer to a born this way/chromatica hybrid.

I'm so glad Lana Del Rey actually exists and I didn't just make her up. 

Gaga have been used onomatopoeia repetitions on every of her previous songs... Even RedOne himself said that she write fully her songs and the producers just modify some aspects of it. She likes to reference her previous songs in her new songs it's a thing that she always did, even on her unreleased songs.

Tastes are subjective no need to make toxic comments by saying it's "trash". I do not love that much "Abracadabra" but I got to admit that the production isn't flat anymore. I prefered "Disease" it was more my kind of vibes. 

 

Gaga do not care that much abt making sells, she's already super rich, she defo made an album with the kind of sonorities for her fanbase, bc they wanted this since a long time. She made Jazz music for the fun and now she's returning to pop for her pop fans. But as she said, she can't recreate the style of her old music so she has to do something that balance her new artistic identity and her roots.

Well sometimes actions speak louder than words. She said DWAS won’t be on the album and is a standalone project, and announced Disease as the first single from LG7 and look where we are now.
