velvetxcrowbar 141 Posted May 23, 2020 Zara made some points, was it REALLY necessary for Lana to make an entire post about how there's no room for 'frilly' feminists? Then again, free speech and all so Lana can post what she wants. But you can still agree with Lana as well as disagree, not everything has to be black and white, one or the other. I think that was Zara's take on it anyway i think lana was originally questioning the radfem movement but failed to get that across. she really shouldn't have started her post with "question for the culture"
bummersummer 2,218 Posted May 23, 2020 @ tue recap thing is a good idea Not sure if it's important but she unfollowed Win Edwards,Honeymouns & Hillary Duff but yeah Hillary had some ?child porn? at least thats what I heard and this could be why Lana unfollowed her And it was weadorelana who deactivated his/her account if I remember correctly okay, going OT for a sec just to clarify this hilary duff thing bc i'm seeing people throwing v serious accusations around lightly based on not a whole lot a few weeks ago she posted a video that showed a fairly weird photo of her naked son among other normal family photos. like i said, the pic *was* weird & def should not have been posted publicly - that was prob an accident, bc the video was deleted fairly quickly - but there's at least a dozen other explanations for it that don't include pedophilia or child trafficking. basically the rumor got started on lipstick alley, a celeb conspiracy-heavy website which, based on that photo & a supposedly "confirmed" blind item stating that CPS had payed her a visit, decided that the photo was proof that she's involved in a hollywood child trafficking ring & was "offering" her kid as some sort of sacrifice to ~the powers that be~ in exchange for fame and success. it's bonkers, yes, and it's literally the only "supporting evidence" behind those claims. google LSA conspiracy alley if you want to read the thread. honestly i don't give a shit about hilary duff, but i find it pretty sickening that a "theory" so ludicrous and downright insane is being treated as fact. ok pls don't reply to this here so as to not derail this thread.
Lentilus 25,720 Posted May 23, 2020 Our serene queen is just feeling fed up with the way mainstream has blacklisted her. For whatever the reason. She didn't throw anybody under the bus. She merely drove the bus and ran over those who deserved it.
mkultraviolence 5,832 Posted May 23, 2020 zara needs to read a book obviously being soft is something under attack nowadays and worth fighting for? and yes the artistic freedom of women could not be more precisely what feminist liberation is all about?? and in what way does a singular topic like domestic abuse that feminism critiques diminish the question of the agency of women? a society that dictates a woman‘s creative expression based on her gender is a society that dictates a woman‘s romantic expressions based on her gender and subjects her to abuse. different symptoms with different gravities but same origin yeah I think we need to remember that Lana is a popular figure in the entertainment industry and their standards are much different than ours. we may feel comfortable being delicate and as a user here put it, "frilly feminists", but in her world she might be aggressively bombarded with demands to be strong and powerful and assertive. her label might push her to be more like the other women on the charts that she mentioned or maybe it's other people in her life doing that. I think her point is valid and I feel like she shouldn't be told "you already have a space here, can't you see? this movement fights for you, too" when maybe that's just not how she sees it and feels. it's early for me and i'm having trouble articulating sorry

Trash Magic 28,395 Posted May 23, 2020 I mean she has said how she is crazy in roughly 3/4 of her 600 songs why did we wait until now to believe her. Pretty sure she's always been this way behind closed doors. I think she's sabotaging herself. 4 Quote "It's 2011, and we should all be aware of exactly how fast technology is developing" - Lana Del Rey

A happy, content Lanz wouldn't've posted the initial statement in the first place. She's obviously been stewing, and she seems to be struggling to let it go because she keeps logging back on to say more about it. 7 Quote ur legit gonna look the same stop buying oil of Olay face cream

She doesn’t have the capacity to say that mentioning artists or other stuff might have been wrong. I don't think she was angry or pressed when she posted the first photo. And I think when we said she's chill she was talking about that. But yeah, she totally got angry when people started to distort her words
Beautiful Loser 48,887 Posted May 23, 2020 Okay this is a mess & a drama but I think that Lana needed to express all her feelings...like it is not good if you hiding your feelings and yeah now Lana kinda "exploded" but maybe that is what she needs to "heal" if you know what I mean...right now it is a mess but maybe she just needed this & it is her try to fight off the monsters that are still under her bedWhat I’m personally confused about is why she would even take this public. Her point in the original post was badly formulated and people would probably try to correct her even if she hadn’t mentioned those names at the beginning of the text. To me, it seemed that this has been something that’s been on her mind for the last days or week, something that she’s been trying to figure out on her own but failed to come to a conclusion which is why she decided to ask a “question for the culture”. If I were her, I would’ve reached out to friends, maybe my (her) sister since they seem to be close and like my managers to know what they think, so have someone to exchange thoughts with. Just so I wouldn’t have to keep those thoughts to myself and “hide” my feelings. To say, “I want to go back and do this again, too”. Why post it on her public LDR account? It wouldn’t have been great to post it on her private Honeymoon account because fans follow her there too, but she surely must have another private one.I guess she wanted to post it so to kind of start a debate in the music industry, surely to get support from fans, but this backfired greatly in a way I don’t think she predicted at all. I don’t know, maybe I’m getting old too, but I didn’t try to defend Lana on Twitter at all because I figured that’s not my job really; those are her words and she’s the only one who can defend herself and explain her thoughts. It’s not up to me. And like I said, if I were her, and if I had the power to, I would just say that those women inspired me to also be brave and write songs with sexual, submissive, heartbreaking lyrics and go back to my roots instead of bringing it all to social media. 14 Quote LB DEMOGRAPHICS SURVEY 2024 | SECRET SANTA 2024

It's not that she wants to be right all the time. She said X and people got angry because they interpreted it as her saying Y. If I were her, I wouldn't apologize either because people would see it as "you were right, I was being racist and tearing down women" instead of "yeah, I may not have chosen the right words and I shouldn't have named other female artists (...)"
Flowerbomb 65,594 Posted May 23, 2020 I think my disappointment lies with the fact that she just seems very narrow minded and doesn't want to listen to those who are genuinely hurt/affected by her statements. Also the way she addressed the whole thing in her follow up comments were nonchalant and just...pissy? I'm still glad she spoke up on her own issues regarding the criticism she has faced but it's like she says one thing I can agree with and then something complete opposite which I can't quite excuse. Ugh Lana you complicated queent

Yosemite 23,786 Posted May 23, 2020 At the end of the day, everyone has their opinion. If you want to disagree with her, you have the right to. If you think some of those artists she mentioned had it worse than her (which I can agree to some extent) then I fully support you. However, if you make this a racial thing you're just sick or you just want more drama. That post didn't have an ounce of racism. Not even a bit.She could've chosen her words better, that I can 100% agree. But she chose to post it raw and it's still valid despite the quality of her words tbh a dialogue would be nice but I only saw hate and dragging Yes. If there were a somewhat of a debate I'd be on board. Like, people expressing their feelings, her listening and address it. However, people were just being toxic and hateful and she replied like that and I don't blame her. Also, I loved her irony on "Thanks for the Karen comments tho. V helpful"

Maybe that’s why I like her lol She still follows Ariana and Win on Twitter. Win is immune to everything because he kisses her ass no matter what. Also the amount he spends on Lana he’s a cash flow she’d not even dare tell him to fuck off. 4 Quote Arches are Illusions solid at first glance
