But knowing Lana, she won't care since she released HBTB on a monday

I would be surprised/thrilled if Lana has a song on LDR5 where she does her "alternative rapping technique" like in National Anthem and Off to the Races. It'll make this record powerful 

At the very least, I would love vinyl as beautiful as the UV vinyl with the hydrangeas in the blue and purple. I often don't want to pay more for vinyl just because it's prettier but that one was totally worth it

I hope that LDR5 has a box set like UV. The Honeymoon CD boxset was weak.

I look at Lana Del Ray as her most lyrically creative venture and she recalled in an interview in Galore magazine that making that initial album (and writing it) in 2007 with Steven Mertens was her happiest time in New York.
 
Obviously you have tracks like Black Beauty, which is one of the stand-outs of post-Born to die and that is in fact very dark and a reflection of a sad and depressive state but I would hope that she's kind of in a happier space and that translates into the lyrical content of the new album. She's definitely already shown another side of herself with Stargirl Interlude and she's had a pretty cool attitude on instagram posts the entire time since Honeymoon has been out so I hope it's a little less heavy.

Yeah, I hope the instrumental is more engaging. Even the strings in the background during the last chorus of Radio is so enjoyable

Omfg I'm so gay, I love this lil blond goddess Jesus Christ I'm 22 and crying over basic teenage drama but it's so good. This series isn't perfect and it feels quite slow sometimes but that may be because I binge watched the whole season in a row oh my God it's 1am40 I have to be awake in 5h and I almost passed out in the metro earlier kms

You're right. I actually just said that to point out how some people argue "Born To Die sold 7M and had some successful singles -> many people enjoyed it -> it's commercial and mainstream -> it's bad", which of course is BS, as there is no correlation between quality and sales.

Well I must admit, I've never listened to a full album by them (I only know some of the singles), but according to Wikipedia, Stadium Arcadium was commercially very successful as well as praised by critics and they won five Grammys for it, so I guess it is possible to have quality and quantity. 
 
But yeah, this album is definitely an exception. So like I said, for LDR5, I'm not expecting more 12 songs on the standard edition (maybe only 11 if they're relatively long, like on Ultraviolence), so I'm praying for some bonus tracks.

After all she just delivered some of her most sexual lyrics in the one minute and 55 second masterpiece that is Stargirl. I do feel like she still has a large amount of spark in her and I hope she's exploring around with her lyrics again now that she seems to have more muse than she did with Honeymoon. I also do feel like Abel is really helping her loosen up more. And she is determined to make up for last era... 

okay i know opinions are different but how does hm sound more clear? MDM had obvious strong effects on her voice but the rest sounds crispy clear it's always so nice to listen to her voice with good equalising, compression and dehisser. However HM is full of excessive overdrive, the compression and dehisser are done so badly (0:04 MTWBT always comes to my mind) the vocal production just isn't good from a technical point of view.
 
Reverb and other effects do no harm if they're used as effects and not the default vocal mastering of the record.
 
throwback tuesday to the meltdowns when we heard cola. everytime i listen to the song i remember that someone on here said how it's sounds as if she's recorded it in her bathroom.  

omg YES GET MY HOPES UP!!!! She looks stunning there btw. If this was in fact for some sort of album shoot I would like the direction she's headed.

I'd have bought it myself but the shipping for the one copy that's still on sale costs more than the vinyl itself... but praying your friend pulls through because I still need to hear the studio version
 
 
This picture also surfaced when she performed on Top of the Pops (with Alan Walker singing Faded); possibly a semi-surprise release for the lead single again like Even If I'm Loud since new press photos are out there?

btd's production missed some points here and there (radio, lolita..) but it's not as if they did a great job on hm. that lq filter on her vocals on half of the songs just adds to the receptiveness of the instrumentals and lyrics. additionally the whole record sounds so "muddy" and not clear when i read that lana (an amateur at mixing) was involved in the mixing i wasn't surprised at all.
 
which doesn't mean there's no good moments on hm but the dull lq production and repetitive feel is kind of a turn off to listen to hm.

They did not "love" it, they just did not bash it as mindlessly as they did bash UV and BtD. If they would have not been so focused on her lips and her past, I bet they would have given those two much better reviews. Noone really hyped HM, they just acknowledged it and said that it was good music.
 
I don't really need or want super-pop-ish stuff or a Born To Die 2.0, but I want the music to be more passionate again. HM as an album felt boring and dull. Almost all tracks were around 5 to 6 minutes long and  had a similar minimal productions without much variation in Lana's vocals. The tracks were solid but ... there was no "fire" nor "energy" when listening through the record. This is not really about the pace (although it helps if not all songs have the same tempo) but the delivery. UV was pretty coherent aswell, yet it was an exciting album.
