Thank you for this, you put it much more eloquently (and thoroughly ) than I could have. I totally forgot about LMLYLAW. This is all making so much sense now omg and with what @GeminiLanaFan said about chemtrails being the “Paradise” to NFR, I definitely think this is a strong possibility

I always interpreted the little sister comment to just mean whatever comes after Norman, not necessarily that they’d be related, but it does make more sense that way lol. I think someone mentioned this already but Norman is kind of masculine by name so maybe his “little sister” will be a more feminine album, and what she associates with her femininity is exactly what she was talking about with her question for the culture post. So maybe it’ll be NFR sounding but with lyrics that aren’t as “strong” or “healthy” so to speak??

i have a theory that part of the themes and lyricism in NFR was kind of an experiment to test critics/the general public. I don’t think that it felt totally authentic to her (obviously there is a grain of truth in everything she says/does, but in this case it kind of felt forced, like the smile on the LFL cover), and to me her insta debacle confirmed this. not saying she doesn’t fully stand behind everything she wrote, I just don’t think it’s her natural way of thinking about things so it didn’t feel very passionate to me, which is something I always look forward to in her music. i think that’s why she didn’t sing too many of the new songs on tour either, although not to drag her it didn’t seem like she enjoyed singing many of her songs at all lmfao

This is for the Twin Peaks stans:
Stuck in an ominous and exclusive environment, while the evil is out there.

If anything I feel like this record will mimic the tone and depth of violet rather than NFR. I feel like she sometimes gives the most shallow details about sound. Definitely though NFR, violet, and chemtrails love in the same realm of lana as does BTD-LFL.

Call me crazy but lana reffered the new album as the sister of NFR! so i think it will have a lot of references of what is being a woman feels like ..like a female world temathic.. (let me love you like a woman tea)

What is a continuation of NFR supposed to even mean? Is she referring to the sound? I doubt she means the attitude or vibe because I'm sensing that COCC is going to have way bolder lyrics and themes.

shes literally spewing her heart at him, or herself even, almost trying to convince herself that she truly is this poet and shes valid to feel this way! it’s so interesting to hear something so, so different from her. god i love her

This. I've seen people saying that they cringe at it, for me is the climax of the audiobook. I absolutely adore how dramatic she sounds, how commited she is to the narrative. A highlight on a brilliant project!

yall... at first i thought sportcruiser was the best here but i think the best one might be salamander. it’s gorgeous how she recorded the part, “I love you but you don’t understand me, i’m a real poet! my life is my poetry... my lovemaking is my legacy!”

So sweet <3
Definitely. I think she’s someone who really absorbs and internalizes her environment and surroundings and that’s definitely reflected in her creative output. That’s true artistry in my opinion, to be able to be discerning of a prominent type of rhetoric and culture and then recount your own experiences through that lens!
You said it so well yourself! I think this record may offer the other side of whatever feelings Lana was experiencing on NFR. That will be interesting to hear, as I think that will further fulfill that chapter of her personal life and career! <3
No comment <3
