The guitar in Guns and Roses sounds exactly like the ones in Kate Miller Heidke - Humiliation

And this sounds like Honeymoons intro. Its from Les Baxters Jewels of the Sea, which she said reminded her of Music to Watch Boys to, so i have no doubts that this inspired honeymoon too

Lana Del Rey killing her career in 2014.

So, we all know Lana's last true hit was "Summertime Sadness" from her cult record Born to Die... three years ago. After that, she absolutely gave up on promotion, TV interviews, live-streamed shows and even singles (realistically, she released only two real singles in the past two years).

What post-Born to Die singles/album tracks do you think had chances to become moderate/big hits? Did she become slower and less commercial, hence the lack of success on radio/streaming?

In my opinion, "High By the Beach" could have been a huge hit. It just needed a little promo, some radio deal and it should've been released earlier. Also, "West Coast" was incredibly acclaimed, it could have been her "Let It Happen" or "Do I Wanna Know?".

  6. Ultra Violet liked a post in a topic by reputation in Who is Lana's best photographer?
Who do you think is Lana's best photographer? Why? Although 100 have shot her, there's 4 she usually stuck with.

Chuck Grant (her sister) - Chuck Grant has done numerous Lizzy and Lana shoots. She has done Tropico, AKA, Blue Jeans, High By The Beach, Music To Watch Boys To, Ride and numerous Lizzy shoots.

Francesco Carrozzini - Francesco Carrozzini, my favorite, has done numerous shoots with her including this unnamed shoot , L'uomo Vogue, Ultraviolence music video shoot and Glamour. He has also photographed people such as Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Beyonce.

Naomi Shon - Naomi is (or was??) Lana's friend, she has done multiple Lizzy shoots with her. She has also shot the National Anthem promotional and BTS pictures.

Neil Krug - Neil has done both Honeymoon and Ultraviolence shoots, he has worked with Lana on other projects such as Maxim, Clash and Complex.
Nicole Nodland - The most favored throughout the fandom, Nicole worked with Lana since 2010, with August 30th 2010 being her earliest shoot. She's done shoots such as Born To Die, Burning Desire and Blue Jeans.

  8. Ultra Violet liked a post in a topic by cashcomesquick in TROPICO - EXPOSING SOCIETY
    Hey, guys!
Since some people shared their "reviews" on Tropico, I'd like to share the first part I did on it. Lemme know what y'all think

Tropico is Lana Del Rey's attempt at exposing today's society based on the tale of Adam and Eve. It's composed of three songs, each telling a separate story, yet complementing each other.

    Garden of Eden
It debuts in the Garden of Eden, the origin of mankind. In the context of religion, this is mankind's first "Free Will performance", choosing between good and evil, realising having choices, taking responsibility for your own actions.

    Choose your idols wisely
The concept of Eden is applied to society. Lana and Shaun, representing human beings, are shown listening to John Wayne, instructing them on life. He plays God's role in Lana's metaphorical Garden of Eden.
During this scene, the emergence of a new era containing a contrary way of thinking is predicted. While Wayne instructs them to focus on aggressively achieving their dreams and goals, Jesus' words ("Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who trespass against us") fade away barely noticed.
The effect of this overlap is underlining the aforementioned thesis of a radical change within society.

Marilyn's first statement "Sex is a part of nature. I go along with nature!" perfectly describes the degradation of women in public. She is the definition of "sex symbol", being reduced to her physical appearance, yet she is idolised by many people which again leads to radical changes within society.

Elvis is displayed as the male counterpart to Marilyn.

    Original sin
Tropico's re-enactment provides symbolic allusions to this theme, the lamb representing pure innocence and unconditional obedience based on lack of free will. The unicorn is commonly used to portray purity and grace. The serpent persuades Lana to eat the apple which leads to her fall.
A noticeable difference to the actual tale is that Shaun himself decides to eat from the apple in order to follow Lana. This difference highlights the free will, having the option of choosing between good and evil. Additionally, this difference is important regarding the assumption of "a woman being the reason of the original sin". It leads to the conclusion that everyone is responsible for their own actions.

    Ive got
Born To Die: Paradise Edition on CD Ultraviolence Vinyl Honeymoon Vinyl  I listen to the CD all the time, but only listened to the records a few times on my boyfriends record player cause mine is shit and needs a new needle before it wrecks my records.
Funny story with the CD though. I actually just wanted the normal BTD cd, because at the time (back in 2012) i hadnt listened to the Paradise songs much, and liked the BTD album cover better. But when it came in the mail I opened it and was really diassapointed. But then I realised it still had the original BTD songs + the paradise ones and Im SOOOO glad I got the paradise edition by accident as i like it even more than BTD now <3

I once had a dream where I was just hanging out with Lana after one of her concerts and we were smoking and sitting on these steps near the beach late at night and it was warm so obviously summer. And i just remember we were talking about random things and other-worldy topics and it was just nice to talk to someone about it who apparently had the same views as me. i woke up feeling wierd that i dreamed about someone famous but i kinda felt better for the rest of the day ahaha

I did a lot of digging today and finally managed to find a lot of interesting things that we didn't know about the May jailer- Lizzy Grant days from the old Myspace. It would be great if you guys appreciate this, it took forever to put together, haha. Most of this is information taken from pictures, they'll be at the end, and the picture containing whatever information will have the picture number next to it in parentheses except performance dates, there are way too many to put with pictures, ask if you need the pictures for the performance dates and I'll PM them. The pictures are out of order by date though. It's all between 2006 and 2010.

Someone's probably already said so but I cbf looking back through the comments..
Lana removed "subversive" from her insta bio and replaced it with "Solvet et Coagula" which is latin for "destroy and then create"
So I doubt Subversive is going to be the new album title now. I'm liking this destroy/create thing though. It's probably a sign that her new album is on the way and the Honeymoon era is officially closed.
She also made the Honeymoon account private last week so......

I wonder what she'll do with that account. Leave it and stop posting? Change the name of it and continue posting for the new album? ...

She has to do a witchy cult era at some point in her life, she's lowkey set herself up for it, so now is as good a time as any.

Hope we get a snippet soon.

But legit y'all are getting feisty over what the album is going to sound like, when the last time we had an idea of that was over a year ago lol. The album can sound like anything at this point. I personally feel like it might sound like a sassy version of Ultraviolence.
