They’re never 100% right, like you said. And Lana really doesn’t seem to update anyone on her process lol, which makes it very hard for any “insider” to know anything. But since this account doesn’t say very much about Lana, I thought it might be a sign that she is done and the rollout for BB is finally beginning. Or it’s just speculation, but I’m getting a end of Sept or October release vibes for this album, so the tracklist and preorders are likely to begin soon, I guess.
Absolutely nothing, sweetie. Except for the selfie posts and leakin_news on Twitter saying the tracklist and preorder are coming in August (we’re debating how “reliable” this could be).

Hunter S. Thompson shooting his typewriter, aka something Lana definitely needs to recreate in a music video or album shoot like HBTB 2.0

sorry if pic is too big I’m on mobile idk how it looks

if it's "mainstream" country, absolutely not, if it's "classic" country, like patsy cline, nancy sinatra, etc. or with blues/desert rock influence, absolutely!

ppl don't think that but i *think* a lot of people are seeing that his collaborative efforts don't offer artists much these days and that post-NFR, his production seems to be increasingly... formulaic

Edit: i want to add that it's rly kind of alarming how so many artists' music (lana, lorde, etc) are starting to sound similar to each other, when originally they were very distinct. i really feel like it is such a disservice to these individual artists tbh. the music industry and press etc is already *so complex* to navigate, like the risk of being thrown into really narrow misogynist categories such as "sad girl" for sometimes singing abt harsh realities lol (let alone when the production that now accompanies really introspective lyrics all sounds so similar). like jack def needs to just get some integrity and be a responsible collaborator if he's going to market himself as one, and offer something more inspired to the artists he works with

friendly reminder, nikki lane didn't steal lana's chord progression/melody and recycle it for another alt. girl  breaking up slowly would've been improved if it was structured differently & if it wasn't as short  hard rock collab album that's NOT produced by jack antonoff featuring lana, nikki, & courtney is coming!

I love i talk 2 jesus omg...   like i actually think it might be her saddest and most unsettling song

I'm an atheist and in my view, the song doesn't rly spark evangelical vibes. What is rly palpable and moving is the sheer regret in the song  (a theme that just seems so uncommon or like half-assed in most music? Like if ur gonna talk abt regret, u better evoke gut-wrenching depression chasm or not at all)

I just relate hardcore - first to what seemed like depression+suicidality but then to what the song actually is: ruminating over agonising regret (ppl don't need to be Christian to relate to that, unfortunately)

Also, as a fan of some of Johnny Cash's work, I was familiar w his 'I Talk to Jesus Every Day' - it's V evangelical and self-righteous and Lana's song interestingly has an opposite effect: she "talks to jesus" when she literally has no other option - there is no undoing the past but she still begs for it in vain   and i do understand and can have a soft spot for people who rely on religion (or whatever else - drugs? therapy?) to deal w reality

Edit: OH! also the parallels to pin up galore  can she hurt me any more?????

Omg courtney made a meme about jack sampling wild at heart on the lorde track….does this mean lana will weigh on? How will this effect the album? Grabbing popcorn

My guess is it’s coming after Bleachers, for two reasons:
    1- Lana might have a bigger than expected part on Don’t Go Dark On Me;
2- after so many contributions from Jack, it would be just human decency to have his project breathe a little on its own.

It's weird that she teased a single without releasing it after getting 3 singles with no announcement. They must be planning the rollout of the album or something.
Maybe they are waiting a bit to be able to release it with the preorder so the dates are not too far apart.
Is this our first era with no big MV?
It's hard to guess cause NFR started with the videos being just parts of the triple MV looped but then we got 3 nice videos by Rich Lee. Also Chemtrails looked very lowkey but we got her biggest MV since Tropico

Calm down, Jack haters. Lana is credited as a songwriter on two songs on the Bleachers album. Maybe this counts as a “project”.
and let’s not forget Behind the Iron Gates.

If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that Billboard is not a go-to or highly reliable source for information and people shouldn't automatically assume that they're correct  From what we know right now, I wouldn't be surprised at there being one or two Jack produced songs on the album in the end, but I don't think he'll be the main producer just going off the fact that none of the singles were produced by him.
