In some of the reviews for COCC the authors took issue with how she has treated Ann Powers. The direction of her next album might alienate them further.

Lana probably knows that and it just shows how bold she is. Coming from two critically acclaimed album, this might be the perfect time to adress her critics.

Edit: Guess there will be two sides when the record drops: „Omg Lana is a fragile white woman“ and „She is rightfully not taking it any longer“. What an interesting  and scary time to be a stan

Edit 2: Two things I can‘t stop thinking about:
    - Lana does really care what critics think of her. And especially the criticism in her early career seem to have left some deep scars. QFTC has made this already clear, but it looks like she has much more to say.
    - Most Critics don‘t know how to handle her and are suprised when she claps back. It shows in the reviews for COCC where they repeat the things they said about NFR („best songwriter of our generation“, „such a lana-album“ and so on).

This is a good point. I was angry about the Sputnik trolling, but only because nothing about her social media drama had anything to do with Chemtrails.

I hate to put it this way, but perhaps she was treating Chemtrails as a sort of sacrificial album, expecting it to get torn apart by the critics due to her controversies and then blast into Rock Candy Sweet to move on for it? It really is surprising Chemtrails has been met with the acclaim it has. But yeah, it seems like she's been prepping this new album for a while, and if she's really going for the jugular like she seems to be, I won't even bother looking at the MC page when it's released because the vibe is gonna be caliente.

also, miss thing better be explicit, honestly this reminds me of when UV was being discussed/like Zella Day said in her tweet how lana used to somewhat "shock" the world with her beautiful poetic songs - she's coming to slay !!!

imagine how frustrating and suffocating it MUST feel to have the whole entire world think something about you that is not true , simply for wording her post wrong and not expressing herself in the way she wanted.
it must feel like living in hell, so y'all should chill out with the whole "SHES UNSTABLE, SHE NEEDS HELP" and let her fucking vent. like, why should she tiptoe around being decimated intentionally by the media????? HAVE YALL FORGOTTEN 2014.... lol

I loved this. I just hope that if she goes all out with this angry, cleansing album, she really goes for it. Like, I want this album to be her exorcism. Her Yeezus. I want her to fuck me all the way up.

You ask this like she didn't release Venice Bitch and Mariner's Apartment Complex 9 months before NFR.

This album is so interesting. People (outside of Lanaboards) seem to not like it as much as NFR, but...
In a lot of ways, I feel like COCC is actually better than NFR. The production, vocals, and lyrics are personally more pleasing to me. I also feel like these songs evoke more thought and feeling. With NFR, I was able to listen to the album once and understand all of it. The only thing I really prefer about NFR is that it's longer and has a more satisfying climax. Not to put that album down or anything, because there's plenty of great songwriting on there as well.
With COCC, I feel like there's so much more depth and emotion. The songwriting seems more personal too.

    Just my rambling opinion.

Okay let‘s not steep as low as attacking some writer on twitter. Her article was horrible and twitter stans are already on there, giving her shit again and embarrassing themselves.
However I don’t see why she thinks it’s necessary to write a longer article lmao
What is she going to add? How LDR called someone Art Deco, when she didn’t even live during that period?

Lana's singles are usually released on random weekdays. Given that June 1st is a Tuesday, I suppose there is a possibility that RCS is a single, as the word "record" can mean both a single song as well as a full album. Although Lana has never referred to any of her singles as a "record." She almost exclusively uses that word as "album." I feel like it could be either one to be honest, as there are ways to rationalize both

cocc released on a friday, but then again it's lana. realistically, don't get your hopes up for exactly june 1, we know she throws out dates she's hoping the album will come out but who knows.... i mean, maybe! but i doubt it tbh.

also this album title reminds me of when we thought cocc would be "white hot forever", it just seems like random words lol

honestly i wouldn't be surprised if she saved dealer for this album! she said before that cocc would be more jabbing at the industry and the culture and media/everything but the only song that was that way was DBJAG, but it makes sense if she actually had several songs that were supposed to do that exactly and she saved them for the next record!

by how she said what she said, it seems like it's an album. either way, if it's a single, it's a song from a new album but i don't think she'd announce a random new single 3 months in advance, it just seems kinda weird to do so? i mean she mentioned songs way ahead of time before but not a release date. we all are thinking its a full ass album
