not necessarily in response to this post, but just to add on without generalising, if were being honest, most of the community on this site are part of the lgbtq+ community, and as such, we have a duty to keep the site as welcoming as possible to encourage cohesion amongst users and to prevent users leaving the site (which happens way more often that necessary). the problem arises when people say things that are against the grain of the majorities opinion (which don’t get me wrong, they are within their rights to hold that opinion) and resort to personal attacks i feel there is a major connect between right wingers and the need to scream and shout with name calling and personal attacks when they run out of things to argue about. that is why people get warned. not because they hold certain views (unless it is literally nazi'ism..), but because the second you begin to harrass other users is the second you breach the site rules. as niko said, alluding to someone being on crack for holding an opinion is not constructive, nor is it fair on someone sharing an opinion in the same manner you are doing. i’m sure if somebody began quoting your posts with 'you must be on drugs' or 'you are braindead' you would be a little peeved.. we are well within our rights as a private forum to have whatever rules we choose, just as X chooses to favour right leaning viewpoints and censors the word 'cis' for some reason. the mod team has had a fair bit of harrassment in the past (especially on occasions in '23) around how people were not getting censored enough. niko put it well where he said we were stuck because were damned if we do and were damned if we don’t. at the end of the day, we go by how elle wants to run her site, because it is her site as i have said before, it is all peace and love, and there are not personal vendettas against anyone meaning the site rules are as they are and they will be put against all users fairly
