It's quite obvious that UV was a personal project for her. I definitely think she used it as a way to vent and probably cope with her failing relationship. It's obvious her label didn't like it, too. I honestly think she's abandoning UV so fast because she wants to move on with that part of her life. I think she's just ready to abandon it and write songs about how happy she is now with her lil Italian boyfriend!

But Lana understands the whole 'package' thing though, hence why she creates visuals for her music.......
There's nothing wrong with liking the visuals as much as the music, its half the reason I love Lana, that doesn't make me a bad fan at all. I appreciate her music and love it but her visuals are so interesting and great to watch.
If people want to discuss what hair colour they want her too have or style of clothing, thats fine, they're not unappreciative of her music, they're just stating what else they want visually.
Lana releases her music commercially whether her music is or isn't so the whole package is important.
I personally love her jazz music so I'm happy for more of that but just because some people would rather not have it doesn't make them a bad fan.

Well, I guess that is mainly because it is easier to talk about things like that. Knowing Lana, you can argue about how she may visually perform "Honeymoon" and "Music To Watch Boys To" quite easily. Sound is something, which you can hardly argue about without hearing something, and since Lana's predictions have been ... not the most concrete or reliable ones so far, it's hard to talk about it.
Nontheless, alot of people have been talking about sonical aspects here.
And the shirt thing ... It's superficial, but i can understand it. If you like the music of an artist, it can be very disappointing if this artist isn't doing anything with it visually, especially if the artist is known for doing this very well.
And on a (more general) side note ... Lana NEVER did jazz, anyway. With lots of goodwill, you may call some MDM performances and the SG verses as well as SOC jazz-influenced. And TOW may originally be a jazz song. But still, so far jazz has only been one of her favourite words and maybe one of her main influences for UV. That's it. Neitehr any real "future jazz" nor "classic jazz". So all the talking about how jazz is boring or not is kind of useless.

No, don't think so. The billboard article said, "Lana Del Rey has nine songs written for her next album, titled Honeymoon -- four of which "the production is perfect; I'm looking for a few more songs to tie everything together"

I am so happy hearing this news. Honeymoon just sounds light, girly, romantic... Hopefully there will be some happy songs on this album. I love Ultraviolence, but the more I listen to it the more I realize how heavy it is, it's quite a downer. Knowing it will be similar to BTD/Paradise makes me very optimistic, that was Lana's prime in my opinion. Also knowing that she's already got NINE songs done is amazing. She sounds like she's really enjoying herself, makes my heart happy :')

I think it's evident from the title it's about a different guy.
If she were still with Barrie the album would be called Funeral.

I'm here for a deluxe 5CD/2DVD box set with all the demos and outtakes and unreleased LG-era songs plus all existing footage that tie up everything once and for all. Come on Lana, do it like Nirvana, only bigger & better.

You know what, whatever Lana does with her music, I'll be happy with it. She had me hooked for this long, so I trust that I will love her upcoming music. For some reason, we all want her to become bigger, which is exciting to watch, but honestly, fuck it. As long as she keeps making music, I'm fine with whatever happens.

3 albums in and i'm happy to see she's a versatile artist. I thought we would get 3 BTD albums by now, which is fine, i love that stuff, but she's shifted here and there and mixed it up a little which has been good i think. I love that she has enough balls to do something like Ultraviolence after the amount of success she had during the BTD era, she could have played it really safe and just made something that would sell millions, but she stuck to her guns and did what she wanted, lots of respect for that.
Sounds like the next album may be a more return to the lush movie style production we saw with her previous albums, which after Ultraviolence i'm hungry for. I hadn't listened to UV for a few months and played it the other day, it really is a fantastic album, so so good, but Big Eyes has really made me excited for her to tread more familiar territyo this year. I can't wait, she's been very consistent for me music wise, so far she hasn't disappointed me, so i expect her next album to be good.

I don't know what I want for her next album. Born To Die will always be my favorite, but recently I have started to appreciate the hell out of Ultraviolence. If she can top them both then I'll die, I trust her judgement and support her need to explore her sound. She really can do no wrong in the album department, it just works for me either way. If I like it on the spot then great, if I need to warm up to certain songs then so be it. I'll end up loving it anyway.
But I still think Hollywood needs to get out there, it gives me life. Just throwing it out there

I'm hoping that since she's decided to do something new every album or whatever that she goes back to having some hip hop tones again. Far fetched dream but I loved born to die. Maybe she'll have a unreleased Florida Kilos feel for the next album... or maybe she'd even do a soft and slow album like bloozy(bluesy). I dont know. I'm just excited period. I cant get enough.
I'm okay with her subject matter. In fact I love it, because it's soo storytelling like. You guys cant just expect her to change how she writes that's kinda set in stone really.
I LOVE the title Music To Watch Boys To..... because that's what I wanna do while listening to it. lol
I say the more music the better. Gotta stay relevant.

Trinity liked a post in a topic by YUNGATA in Vintage Lana vs. Rocker(?) Lana
I think her vintage Priscilla Presley hair styles and general golden age glamour is absolutely breathtaking. That being said, her more casual qt """soft grunge""" look gives her this girl next door look which has it's own certain charm. I think Lana can pull off a variety of looks quite well and I actually hope she continues to do so because the way she transcends different styles and eras is quite interesting.

Hundred Dollar Bill liked a post in a topic by Trinity in Best LDR Musical Moment
After spending two hours of reading everyone else's special moments, I'd like to post some of mine. Here comes wasting another two hours writing this response. I'm going to organize them by album!
Sirens
LDRAKALG
In (one of my favorite Lana songs ever) Oh Say Can You See there are a ton of moments. The little guitar picking at the beginning and in between lines at 0:11 and 1:40, the at the and I wi-ul at 2:10, and the send you to Mars high note at 3:07. The breath at the end of Mermaid Motel, 3:28. Of course the dark night line in Yayo, 4:03. The crescendo in For K Part 2 at 1:07 and then I like the way you wear your sweater off your shouuuulder.
Born to Die
Off to the Races obviously is just one big moment for me since it is my favorite song in the world but there's two parts that stick out to me... First the whole "glass room, perfume, cognac, lilac fuuuumes" line because she uses so many mellifluous words one after another it's just a lyric-gasm. Then right before 3:30 there's a little quiet part and then the bass just starts jumping and it aligns perfectly with "you're lying with your gold chain on" <3 <3 <3 The first few words of Radio on the album version and in the demo when the flute comes in with the *doodle-doodle-dooooo* noise like at 2:40. In Million Dollar Man live (especially at Hackney) when she literally wails like "one for the moneyyuuuhh, woauuhuhuhahh!!!!" The last chorus of Blue Jeans when it builds up after the bridge and drops at 2:55. It's like a cannonball of cinematic perfection. The entire Diet Mountain Dew demo is amazing but the "I dunno why but I liiiike it" line at 1:48.
Paradise
Not exactly musical but during the Ride monologue when she does a short little breath before "I was always an usual girl". In Gods & Monsters how the drums and guitar just break down when she sings "Motel, sprees, sprees" at 1:06.
Ultraviolence
The whole tempo change in West Coast gets me every time. It's genius. The "ba-da-da-da-da-babay"s and "yeauhhhss" at the end of Brooklyn Baby. I don't even like Guns & Roses that much but the haunting "ro-oohuh-ooses" part at 3:40 gives me shivers. I'll listen to the whole song just to hear that. "And all my girlfriends!" in Florida Kilos just because you can hear the smile on her face. The Lizzy Grant-esque background "yeah" in Fucked My Way Up to the Top at 1:04.
Unreleased
In my fave unreleased Gangsta Boy there are a couple key moments. Of course there's the spine chilling yet adorable "my gangsta booOOOYYY-ooh-ooh-oohuh-ahhh!" in the beginning. Then at 1:21 when the backing vocals come in and she sings, "like ya leather and ya long hair, hunnay, hunnay", not sure why but it's always been an awesome moment for me. The repetitive "like"s in My Best Days and the boppy breakdown at the end. The "woah-oh-oh" part in Last Girl on Earth when she goes higher at 2:20. In Television Heaven the haunting backing vocals over and after the bridge followed by a cute lil laugh. In Hawaiian Tropic that heavenly vocal overlay with the chorus and "I remember party dresses" at 3:21. The moan in Serial Killer along with those quick "ha-ha-ha-ha-has!" "You turn my mood from black to blue-oOoOooh" in the Hundred Dollar Bill demo.

They all know my name now
It's just another lonely day on the playground
Okay, let's go
One, two, three, four
No, I'm not vintage, no, I don't care
No, I'm not Kylie, no, you can't compare me
To another one, there's no one else
I'm nobody, I'm just myself
It's not Fight Club, I'm a rare snowflake
But if I hear you bringing me down, calling me so fake
I will fight you (yes), I will fight you (yes)
Because in the end, there's only truth
And God is gonna smite you
Besides that, I don't like you
I just wanna party, boy, I don't wanna fight
But everybody knows that that's the way it is
Only players can survive
They all know my name now
It's just another lonely day on the playground
(Only players can survive)
Rain, rain, go away, now
Come again another day in the game now
(Only players can survive)
No, I'm not retro, no, I'm not fair
Yes, I like to read in golden heels and underwear
And it's not Scarface, 'cause I'mma live forever
If I hear from anyone you're trying to get too clever
Then I will fight you, I will win
I will rise again, soar in the wind
It's my destiny, the way my life begins
So if you're in my way, I'll knock you down like kingpin
I just wanna party, boy, I don't wanna fight
But everybody knows that that's the way it is
Only players can survive
They all know my name now
It's just another lonely day on the playground
(Only players can survive)
Rain, rain, go away, now
Come again another day in the game now
(Only players can survive)
Ring around the rosie, oh
I don't wanna fall down
Keep my feet on the ground
Pocket full of nursery rhymes
I'm just biding my time
Biding my lines
I'm wearing the invisible crown, you can't see it yet
Touring up in here in the town, a soul singer, yes
Sometimes I rap, too, I'm a white girl
But the world is my oyster, I'm a little pearl, yep
They all know my name now
It's just another lonely day on the playground
Rain, rain go away, now
Come again another day in the game now
Ring around the rosie, oh
I don't wanna fall down
Keep my feet on the ground
Pocket full of nursery rhymes
I'm just biding my time
Biding my lines

I went to that festival and my friend (sassy geh male) had to yell at the flower crown tweens to stop pushing and cutting a line because they were close to knocking a large wooden fence over. They got dead quiet...he verbally scalped them.
He is my bodyguard again for the VA show.
