Yesterday, Lana Del Rey was spotted by fans at Joules & Watts Coffee in Malibu, California.
 

hmmm, as a Mexican fan, I always saw lana show love to POC, even if some people felt like she was stealing from our culture, like when she appeared chola in gods and monsters, or like recently when she wore her flannel with the top button done, which I loved, I always saw it as her showing appreciation for the culture... that's all I can speak on as a latino POC lol

I am so fascinated in the public reception of Lana, and her words, and career... since the start of her career, she's been super divisive and controversial, and things seemed to have cooled down post LFL and during NFR, but then QFTC happened and now we're here today lol. 
 
I think the way Complex ran with that singular quote and tried to spin it a negative way is telling in regards to how Lana will from now on will be perceived, and I think the chatter and dialogue surrounding race, and so forth, will continue to... plague (?) her and her work... 
 
If you simply google her name, so many articles come up with "tone deaf comments" or "race issue", and not so much any writing regarding her new song...

I just saw the video and actually liked it. I thought she was pretty clear and thorough with what she was wanting to say tbh. Not really seeing why someone would be triggered by it.

When it was popular to bash lana they did so (even tho BTD was objectively iconic fantano gave it a laughably low score), once the public showed she was popular the trades started playing nice with miss del rey (uv and hm reviews were higher, albeit they still didn't love her and the controversies gave them cover). LFL and NFR were highly reviewed because sites like spin and et all had been using her name for clickbait for years at this point, and they didn't want to piss of the fans and not get traffic as well as lana now had blandly neoliberal politics and social opinions so they tolerated her. NFR got ridiculously high reviews because she was now politcally optimal, jack antanoff was her producer and the trades never miss a chance to blow him (i like antanoff but u kno this is true)QFTC as well as halsey and that other girls stunts in regards to lana accidentally capturing looting, will give critics who don't like lana a lot of leeway to be more lukewarm in their appraisal of the record, The trades will probably play both sides to get maximum clickage from stans haters and those who are both (hi lanaboards). the reviews will be more mixed but they might be positive bc a lot of sites have fired actual critics years ago to hire interns who just wank for celebs in order to fund the clickbait model. buzzardfeed will definitely have positive and negative listicles written by some poor underpaid or not paid intern who picked the wrong year to move to new york city

The first card in her reading being the 9 of wands I guess refers to her troubles this past year with qftc and people “cancelling” her for everything. Since the second card in her reading is the ace of pentacles, we can only assume this reading is to do with her upcoming album since that would be the “present” position and the card kinda represents new starts with like work or money type things (new album rollout?), which makes me very nervous about the third card since it makes me believe her album will be received badly and she’ll get a lot of hate maybe?
