I love Lucky Ones and the BTD version of Lolita

Same here! Although I feel like Lana has always been a country girl (living in trailer parks, the ride music video, etc;) but I get you with the whole hillbilly vibe. COCC has felt so "un-glamorous" unlike the previous eras. I think the biggest contributing factor to this is J@ck's cheap ass production- he fails to capture the cinematic/orchestral vibe that goes well with Lana's voice. Sadly, he doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon :/

i truly will never understand the hate for the album cover. it's a serve and a HALF. it really is her best cover to date. you can actually see the effort put in. idc idc idc

im a little upset at the moment because these la zombies really got to lana and her fillers (mainly cheek/cheekbone/nasolabial even) is getting out of hand. its giving pillow face
i get it, shes a lil more thicker but adding MORE mass to the face does not help! she was probs the same weight in honeymoon era and she had minimal to no filler and she looked so so so good. she really does not need filler at all anymore because she got a lip lift anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
 
i hate that whack ass doctor she gives free tickets to because he probs eggs her on to get unnecesarry shit !!!!!!!!!!!!! her best filler era is 2011-2012 where she was mostly based in nyc where the filler was not so lumpy at all 

I always end up skipping this particular bulk of songs, they contain ALL the aspects I like in Lana's music the least - from Overly Long Titles and cringey political lyrics to the annoying folk collaborators. Without those LFL is a fine lil summer EP featuring both BTD and Honeymoon vibes at the same time.

I love the production! A lot of people on here talk about BTD being overproduced, but I honestly think it's perfect. The strings, the beats, the yelling/cheering/animal noises/sound effects all contribute to the chaotic, manic vibe of the album, and it still makes me go crazy after all these years lol

I want her to sing in full voice on the next album like BTD, none of this whispery falsetto -variation is needed like low notes, high notes and some falsetto.
I feel this was more of a lizzy problem she brought back after UV.
 
aka though I adore it, has a lot of whisper sections.

I really like ultraviolence as a song tbh, when you turn it up it’s so layered and creepy- UV, Shades of cool and Pretty when you Cry are my top 3 UV songs with flipside and West Coast just missing the cut.

in a weird way the overproduction of BTD is one of the things i love about it. like it's just SO much, it's insane and over the top and kitschy - if you'll let me use that word - and very 2012.

some tracks on BTD are TOO overproduced though - lolita especially. some songs i really prefer demos of (lolita obviously, as well as diet mtn dew & without you) but the over the top-ness of BTD is just fun to me 

the further she stays from folk, country and Jack the better 

I think the only reason I'm okay with the nikki collab album is because I just want lana to move on from Jack already, no matter what it is

yeah i really don’t care if i get dragged for this but straight-up imo the more she leans into country, the worse her music gets. i think a full country album would be straight up bad. idc if i sound like a ‘local’ but i rly haven’t stanned lana del rey for 10 years just for her to strip back everything that made her unique, and blindly follow a regression in artistry and sound.

I hate the fact that she’s doing a country album sorry. I’m sad about it. Hopefully RCS is more rock-inspired and this is just a one off project cause... ?

I don't care for a few songs every now and then, but make it a whole album out of it is annoying. She's rich. She can move to the middle of nowhere by the name Elizabeth Grant and no one would annoy her if she wanted 

i've never really understood why lucky ones is so hated - the strings on it are gorgeous (especially the ending) and sure, the lyrics are a bit basic, but i think they're really sweet. it's not my favorite lana song, but i do enjoy listening to it and i always have 

I think Guns and Roses is so underrated, it brings up such an atmosphere. Probably it’s the languid repetition in the chorus that makes it sound boring to some but I find it to be dreamy.

people (including myself, I’m people) were really attached to the image of Marina and The Diamonds up until FROOT which was that of a very cheeky, messy but lovable, shady at times, very talented singer songwriter who made fun of youth culture while at the same time partaking in it and curated her project with the utmost precision from the sound to the visuals to the songs everything 
 
L+F was a HUGE paradigm shift cause she dropped EVERYTHING she had been doing and did a 180 turn on us
No more interesting visuals, no more curated tracklist (she admitted putting together the album after it was already over and coming up with the concept of love + fear last minute which immensely backfired), no more interesting songs (literally nobody outside of the stans remembers Love + Fear or a song on the album), the production is very lacking, boring and generic and the humour is gone
 
now you CAN and should like the song if you want!!! I’m not here to tell anybody what to like and what not to like
 
BUT I think it’s impossible not to acknowledge that a huge part of Marina’s artistry was gone with L+F, and basically everybody noticed that. The reviews all say it’s underwhelming and fans alike are not particularly amazed by it. In fact she went as far as to fire her own manager, which was on maternity leave cause she had just had a baby, cause the album underperformed and she wasn’t pleased.
 
also I think it’s very interesting and it speaks to what actually Marina feels about the album that not even a year after L+F was released she completely dropped the ball while FROOT as an era lasted for well over 3 years, and the same goes for EH (TFJ had a much shorter run but she wasn’t known back then so it’s part of the reason why)
 
but anyway i really suggest you check out her earlier work cause it’s objectively better musically speaking 
 
EDIT: i do wanna stress LIKE LOVE + FEAR IF YOU WANT!!! I am well past “hating” on it I just answered a question that I feel I’m particularly apt to answer cause I was one of the people who criticized her the most and it’s what the post was about
