Love our girl so much but I'm not a fan of her recent endeavors. I didn't really care for NFR and I'm kind of scared that I might not care for COCC.
 
I often don't pay attention to her discography after L4L. I don't really find it interesting tbh, but I still support her artistic moves and what she decides to do.
 
Part of me thinks that it has to do with maturity. She & her lyrics have always been mature, but part of me thinks she's trying to distance herself from the image that everybody thinks of when they think of her, the Born To Die Lana.

I remember when LFL came out In My Feelings was my fav song, and tbh that was taste right there! It’s not necessarily my fav anymore but it’s a highlight tbh. I’ll never get the widespread hate for it. 

Thank you. These are definitely my least favorite titles out of all her records. They’re so Karen. I miss Lana’s creativity. I hope the songs aren’t underwhelming as well but I already know some will be, you can tell she has a simpler sound this time around :/

lana has a terrible eye for visual art   even since honeymoon when she did that gorgeous photoshoot then chose the worst photo out of the batch for the cover. i always felt like her first 3 album covers were TOO simplistic but HM, NFR and COCC covers all have so much going on with them that it's a bit of an eyesore.

Born to Die and Honeymoon remind me of each other in a weird way- I feel like HM is BTD’s grown up, movie star older sister who spends most of her time in Europe and never answers her phone.

Season of the Witch is one of my favorite covers from her. More covers of rock/folk please! 

mostly a joke but it's just such a snooze fest. so boring. i hate jack's piano and his work is rated low on my lists so i felt a jack produced song should be on there

The track titles on COCC are...... so tacky and basic. I was really looking forward to eccentric/interesting titles like Tulsa Jesus Freak and Chemtrails Over the Country Club but instead we got a handful of vanilla Instagram captions like Wild at Heart, Not All Who Wander Are Lost and Dance Till We Die. 

I always wonder how lucky Lana was that she was so famous, because her excellent music is clearly not commercial. When "Video Games" came out, the radios were in the age of easy short pop and electronic music from Avicii, and his songs were not announcing great success.
It truly is a miracle that she reached that superstar rank today.
It wasn't really won and I'm proud of her.
 
I really hope for a comeback for these baroque pop sounds like "Born to die" someday otherwise I'll die and no, "Born to die" is not an overrated album, it's just perfect. He does not age and will never get old. It is timeless and its production sounds very Lana.
 
If she would have released "Let me love you like a woman" or "Chemtrails" as her first single, she wouldn't have caught anyone's attention.

Lana post-Honeymoon is tired, uninspired and artistically lazy—dare I say lazy in general. She needs a long break and so do I.

i listened and think sonically it's really good! a return to form a la froot and TFJ. not a huge fan of the lyrics (they just feel lazy and sort of bland) but otherwise a bop.

FFFF why is this so on the nose for l+f, idk if i agree about froot tho, it was definitely solid alt-pop and it still had a lot of her quirkiness in the production and aesthetic 

I don't care so much about the Britney line as the Harvey Weinstein line. why name drop a rapist. and again just name dropping metoo right after talking about size 0 jeans and Britney Spears... I just dislike hearing it:/ I think the Britney line has sort of the same problem of just name dropping her serious mental struggles in a kind of flippant way, when marina has no real connection to the situation

I can't find the post on here, maybe I saw it elsewhere, but the font is from La Dolce Vita Film. It's defintely odd but with that context I am enjoying the prospect of the aesthetics from this era
