I'm sorry, like no offence to Miss Del Rey, but I'm personally glad that she's sticking to offering nice thoughts and singing a wistfully hopeful song. She's got good intentions, it's cute, and from her, it's good enough. I'm not really trying to listen to a Rich, Straight, White woman from New York pontificate on issues like racism, feminism, or transphobia/homophobia, etc. We, and Jack Antonoff, have seen what that looks like. It's simply not her place, and she has nothing of value to offer to the conversation. Anybody implying that they really want to see Lana get her hands dirty and try to tackle complex societal issues has lost it. She's not the one.

Also, why is this the response to her trying to do a little good with her music? Like the one time she's not just spewing Nostalgic Americana and singing about some dude with tobacco breath, and y'all are mad it's not a marxist folk tune, or something? Ma'am this is Lana Del Rey...

its like, it's cute Lana wants a version of America without the guns, where the flag can freely fly ...... but can she at least pretend to be interested in the history that got America to the place it is now?  like , maybe without centuries of slavery, genocide, imperialism, and a monopoly on violence and militaristic power within and without US borders, the flag wouldn't seem so tainted.  maybe if the US wasnt a huge weapons manufacturer / exporter , maybe if America govt and culture wasn't so tolerant of white supremacy and far right terrorist ideology, maybe if people actually educated themselves ab issues before writing songs about them, we could all just hold hands and sing kumbaya.  but here we are, with a completely fucked up, yet traceable and accessible, history of violence against certain groups (aka everyone but rich straight christian white folk) , and people like Lana are like "huh, i wonder why everythings so fucked up"

I think Honeymoon topped Ultraviolence for me, but these things are subjective and otherwise I agree. NFR definitely sounds like her best work to date

Norman Fucking Rockwell topped Ultraviolence... I’m sorry. It’s just the truth. When Lana experiments with new producers she births the most beautiful pieces ever. Her and Jack have really created a cohesive album filled with magic and turbulence and the most raw emotion.

I think it's okay to express our opinions on environments like this forum or fan groups, but when you take your "opinions" and posts then on Chuck's ig or in places you know she could read it I think it's just mean and unnecessary. "Constructive criticism" only exists when the person actually asks for your opinion, let's not forget that.
