Watching all the promo's and stuff release slowly and waiting for it, season 1 and 2 were amazing but it's gone so downhill lately 
It's basically just pandering to the whole (idek what to call them??) nextflixtumblrbasicgaysass crowd they pulled in with season 3? 
Haven't got high hopes this season, especially with gaga being in it, it's just another grab to get a specific crowd in, so kinda expecting loads of stupid unwarranted sass comments like in Coven
 
But eh maybe they'll turn it round, probably not tho since all the new fans it bring in lap the crap up

She's the most manufactured celebrity that I know of, it's painful to see how she manages her image, even faking tender moments with fans for likability. From what I can see, BTD stans hold the album over Lana's head. Everything that comes out regarding her (photoshoots, songs, album covers as you mentioned) is endlessly compared to BTD. Obviously BTD was a successful album for her and gained her a lot of loyal fans, it's when I even discovered her, but it's like she can't do anything without people complaining they wished it was still that era.

It annoys me so much so many people think that she means to say that her "opponent" fucked her way up to the top. It's obvious that she tongue-in-cheek uses something people have claimed she herself did in order to attack her, which makes it obvious she doesn#'t care and that THIS IS HER SHOW, even IF she would have archieved it this way. By ironically accepting the accusation, she takes the power away from it.
 

I listened to the album twice earlier & I'm..kinda disappointed? It's a good album but not many stuck out to me that weren't ones I'd already heard (Hurricane, Ghost, New Americana, Hold Me Down) 
 
I'm gonna listen to it a few more times & I hope it grows on me more....I was doing homework/reading so maybe that has something to do with it? I'll definitely be listening again..I want to love her, lol.

That would be almost plausible if they hadn't also posted a ridiculously/laughably fake audio sample pretending to also be Lana. And that they arrived and left at exactly the same time as someone using trolling as a new method for promoting their 'fave'. So I'd say the chance of the lyrics being real are somewhere between -1% and 1% (margin of error: 1%)

I'm definitely co-signing this. Ata hit the nail on the head on here: it would be AMAZING if we never had any downtime again, but it wouldn't solve the problem of staff being unable to effectively moderate. If I had a nickel for every time I had to reply to a PM with, "I'm sorry, only @@TIARNZUS is able to do this; you'll have to contact him", man, I would be hella rich at this point.
 
Moderators here are essentially regulated to glorified janitors. We clean up spam, we merge threads, and unfortunately, dole out the odd warning point and remove posting privileges. Menial tasks. We don't have the power to IP ban/delete member accounts, we can't fix the default icon limbo, we can't add sub-forums (i.e., 2014, 2015), we had to abandon Member of the Month because moderators lacked the power to change the sidebar... 
 
All the power to run the forum effectively is concentrated on you. This centralized power is not good and as a result, the forum is suffering. What adds insult to injury is when we bring up problems and you essentially ignore us and fail to even acknowledge the problems. I don't think other members should be privy to the words in this post (I would have much rather discussed this privately), but you repeatedly ignore PMs, the Staff Chat, and attempts to reach out to you on Facebook. It's just not cool.
 
I know that you rilly love this forum and I know you've put a lot of work into creating a site where we have an amazing community of Lana fans. I'm happy to have made so many new friends and I love the inside jokes, the shade , and the camaraderie and we all really do owe that all to you! We just want to help you make this amazing forum better, so talk to us Tiarnan! 

this is great! but it doesn't tackle the fundamental problem of lanaboards which is moderation. moderators do not have enough power to effectively do their job here. I don't mean to be shady and bring it up here but every other attempt of a moderator reaching out to you regarding this has been ignored, even attempted monetary negotiations. please tiarnan, we want lanaboards to be able to be a great forum, talk to us

Don't get me wrong, I love BtD and Video Games was the song that introduced me to LDR and I was entranced with the album when it was released but now that I've listened back to it so many times (and after the Lana hype/initial hate has blown over) I've realised that it's not really, for lack of a better way to put it, Lana. When VG became massive, BtD was released and it was in a similar vein to VG. I feel like the whole of BtD was based around this idea of a depressed Lana who we heard about in VG and BtD and there are only a few moments on the whole record where we actually see the vision that Lana initially had for it, like the trap-y elements on DMnD.
Like with many record labels, I'd say Interscope/Polydor saw the success VG was having and were like 'holy crap! we need to release VG2 and see if it does as well!' When BtD was a success too, they probably told Lana that we needed 12 VGs and BtDs. With a little protest from Lana, songs like DMnD managed to make it onto the record but it was primarily songs that sounded like VG and BTD. 
Ultraviolence, however, really feels Lana. The songs have more variety and I don't know if that was Lana who managed to make the change or maybe Dan Auberbach and that's why I stan over the UV era more than the BTD/P era.
 
The example I like to use is on the cover arts for both albums: On the cover for BtD, Lana looks stiff as a board an uncomfortable as hell aka the Lana that Lana didn't set out to be. It got her the sales and the recognition she deserved but it wasn't her. The UV cover art shows a more relaxed, animated and comfortable Lana aka the Lana that Lana is pleased to be. The UV Lana isn't as successful but it's the Lana that Lana wanted to be. The Honeymoon cover art shows Lana on a tour bus and I interpret that as Lana riding on the critical success UV Lana got and taking those ideas even more into the Lana that Lana truly wants. She's happy and pleased to be this Lana more than the BtD Lana or the UV Lana. Of course, Lana says that HM is more in the vein of BtD than UV so I might be completely wrong here.
 
I'm not hating on BtD in any way and I completely appreciate people stanning over it more than any other Lana eras but, like @ said, I feel like the stans really want the BtD era back and I don't think it'll ever fully come back. Maybe fragments will, but I feel like that's the most manufactured Lana we've ever seen and I don't think Lana was fully comfortable with being that Lana.
