No, this superior attitude of hers is definitely new.

I can never understand why people get soooo pressed when people criticise her. You actually can be both a fan AND critical of some of her words and actions.

Props to the people who actually construct counter arguments instead of the blanket "u R a H8eR aNd I dOn'T lIKe iT" nonsense.

Now I'm scared about the record. It's either gonna be ground-breaking or a disaster. She's coming through as if she's scared as well. And that's the real reason why we have a delay.

Love Song is the weakest song on NFR, it’s boring, bland and dull to me... I never listen to it unless it comes on shuffle.
I really liked it when she posted the snippet and I thought it would’ve been a great song but I was wrong
Hope there won’t be any snoozefest of this sort on COCC...

    Hi everyone!
As promised, I'm getting new themes ready for you all asap.
I just finished coding in a new theme for 'Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass'
You can switch to the new theme by scrolling to the very bottom of the site, selecting 'Theme' and then selecting 'Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass'
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the theme, or if you notice any issues with it! I can make tweaks to it as needed.
Hope you all enjoy the first new theme since 2017 lol. I'll also work on creating and coding in new themes for NFR & COTCC after its release, and then of course creating some past-era themes for our Supporters 2.0 group! x

Good afternoon, everyone! I'm glad a lot of you have been enjoying exploring the new update. It's the beginning of a new era! I thought I'd answer some questions that were left while I was asleep to the best that I can - again, I'm still learning some things along with the rest of you all! If there's any other questions, feel free to leave them below & I'll continue to provide answers x

Yes! Before, you had to enter to manually enter in the [ img] link [/ img] coding for an image to embed. Now, it's a one button click! x

The About Me is still on Profile pages! It's just the second tab. When immediately viewing a profile, the Activity tab is the default, but all your previous About Me info will be preserved in the About Me tab  x

There's an icon on the textbox toolbar with a magnifying glass over paper, and that will allow you to preview a post! x

For now, it appears that to reply to a status on mobile, a user would click on "replies" and then scroll down to the bottom of a user's profile to the status & reply. The Status Update feature is a bit different in functionality than how it used to be especially on mobile (I believe before you weren't able to reply to statuses on mobile) but if I find a different way to reply on mobile, I will certainly let you know! x

I'm nearly certain that the avatar size is something that can be adjusted, I just need to figure out how. This is one of the things at the top of my list to look into, especially because I miss the larger images too lol.
You also should still be able to see who is online - there is a footer box when you scroll all the way down on the homepage that lists who is online. It is the similar in threads, for when you scroll down to the bottom of the thread, there is a footer box that lists who is browsing the thread x

To my recollection, before the update it was also M/D/YYYY. There may have been a setting where users could choose how they preferred to see date formats if you do recall seeing a different format before, so I'll look into this as well x

It's actually been gone for awhile!  x

I actually added them a few months ago!  x

This are things I don't have an answer for at the moment, but I've noted all of these down as things to look into ASAP. I'm still also learning what options are in my control vs. what aren't, so I will tag you all who asked these questions once I find a solution! x

    Hi everyone,
The site is back online! I apologise for the time it took, which was much longer than I expected! Thank g-d Lana didn’t announce anything while it was happening..
Aside from the time it took, the update went quite well. It was a smooth process all around, no real errors, it just took some time! We’re also now on a more stable server (which was the core reason for this whole update) so crashes should happen way less frequently during high traffic times.

& as you can see, we look different!

As stated in the original site update thread, don’t worry, all content that has ever been posted still remains.
The site is still indexing, so if you don’t see some older posts right away, don’t worry, they’re just still rebuilding.

I originally expected that we were going to be themeless for a bit and things were going to look quite plain for a while, but I was able to (somewhat) import the previous Lust for Life theme for both desktop and mobile; however since it wasn’t designed for these new formats, it is a bit disjointed and messy. I did try to fix it to fit the best that I could though. I apologise for that, but don’t worry, we’ll have some new themes coming that will be better designed for this new format.

Essentially, this is just the first draft of LanaBoards 2.0. I probably could have spent some more time perfecting a few things, but I wanted to bring the site back to you all as soon as it was possible since we were offline for so long! I’ll probably continue to tweak things in the background here and there, but again, once the new themes are designed and brought in, that’s when the new version of the site will live up to its fullest potential. Some new functionality features are also to come.

So, take some time to poke around & explore the new layout! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please leave them below & I’ll answer everything the best that I can. (I’m still learning too!)

    Two important things to note:
Usernames & Display Names have been merged. Whatever was your last known Display Name is now your Username, and to my knowledge, is now the Username you will use to sign in with. It also appears that whenever you change your Display Name your Username will change as well, and will sign in with the new one. (May be wrong about this, correct me if so, this is just what I’ve gathered to understand so far.)
Please check your signatures! Some may have glitched during the update, so please adjust them if needed/desired!

Thank you all again so much for all the continued patience & support.
I’m super thrilled for the future possibilities to come with this new version of LanaBoards!

    All my love,
    Elle xx

(also, not to be dramatic, but this is one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done. I’m now going to reward myself to a giant bowl of spaghetti, and then go to sleep for a very long time.)

    Hi everyone!

I know many people including myself were reminded of the Lust for Life Trailer while listening to the poem ‘The Land of 1000 Fires’ from Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass... the vocal delivery, production, and even theme were all so reminiscent of that video.

For fun, I made a short little video featuring clips from the Lust for Life Trailer video paired with a part of the audio from the poem ‘The Land of 1000 Fires’

It’s nothing too fancy or something that I spent a terrible amount of time on, it’s really just the clips from the LFL trailer spliced together in a different order to match the poem, but I thought it was cute and that I should share it!

It’s only a minute long, but I hope you all like it

Something most baffling to me in this election cycle is how the establishment/centrists coalesced around Biden. Although a candidate like Harris, Buttigieg, or Klobuchar as the nominee would not guarantee a win in the general, it is still shocking to me that these campaigns were suspended for a Biden victory into Super Tuesday. He is so controversial and he gives the most ammo towards opposition both from the left and the right, so it feels really unwise that they're hedging their bets on him. Look at how Trump is responding to Harris now, calling her a radical left extremist... Any Democrat/anyone left of the Democrats would see that claim, and it would not have any influence on their opinions of Harris. Meanwhile, the largest opposition would come from those to the left who are currently now scrutinizing Harris's record, yet she would elevate her campaign by selecting someone to her left as the VP.

Biden being the nominee really makes no sense to me. Were the centrists really that afraid that if they didn't coalesce around Biden that Bernie would get the nom? In any case, I will be voting for Biden-Harris, emphasis on Harris, considering that I am praying that Joe Biden dies in the near future, Harris becomes president, and she will be open into signing Medicare For All into law as she's a cosponsor. Yet this is likely never going to happen and my faith in electoral politics are fleeting.

All of it just seems so narrow-sighted. Sure, Biden may win. But I doubt the anti-Trump Republican support for his campaign outnumbers the uninspired progressives who feel absolutely unheard and torn down. Ultimately though, come 2024, the Republicans will simply run a moderate candidate along the lines of Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD) or Gov. Charlie Baker (R-MA), both of whom are Republican governors that are well liked in extremely blue states. A candidate like that will easily win the election in a landslide. Unfortunately, it makes me worry for the Democrats. 2024 will either come with the end of a second Trump term, which would likely result in the Democrats running another center-right candidate for a third consecutive general election, or it will come with the election of VP (or perhaps re-election of President) Kamala Harris (considering re-election of Biden seems unlikely at this point). Harris will likely face extreme scrutiny from the left and from moderate Republicans for being "coronated" with a 2024 election. She will either have to adopt some real left-leaning policies if the Dems are going to win 2024. But my greatest concern is that the 2016 and 2020 elections have turned off so many progressives/left-leaning citizens from voting and also that the DNC will never open up to an actual left-leaning candidate to such an extent that we may never see another Democratic President in our lifetime.

Lastly, I just hate how individuals take politics nowadays, particularly on social media. So many keyboard warriors who will scream at you if you share an honest critique of a politician. It feels extremely eerie for people to get upset when anything negative is shared about a politician. If my action should lend someone the power to be in the highest office of this country, I feel that I would be doing myself a disservice if I did not critique these individuals. For example, critiquing Biden is not campaigning for Trump – it's simply fostering open and constructive criticism within the Democratic Party. So many of these centrist/establishment Democrats make such a fuss over any dissent to an extent that it turns so many people off from politics when really everyone involved should have a seat at that table. I mean, it's not stan Twitter, after all.
