Pawn Shop Blues would never end up on this album but the lyric and sentiment "in the name of higher consciousness I let the best man I knew go" does feel very fitting to the theme of the record!

wait.... okay so the way BOZ worded the info regarding "outtakes" being on the album, i assumed they were mostly unheard outtakes that hadn't been leaked.... but this last post made me not so sure?? now i feel like there's a higher chance there'll be 6 previously leaked songs on the record

Yesssss, but I think she lost to Sam Smith/Adele
I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow some insider said that Born to Die was originally the folk stripped jazzy AKA sequel that no leaker has and only Nikki Lane has a copy.

and think bigger: the reason she delayed the album is to include a song called "Liz, I'm Calling from California" that she "might" see on lanaboards

I'm confused, are the new song unreleaseds or outtakes? I see those two as totally different things.

imagine if she reworked/recycled from some of her more obscure, lowkey tracks, like ben, bentley, or c u l8r alligator, these tracks are quite haunting and have gorgeous melodies

I just realized Cherry Blossom could be about Lana singing to her younger self,  to Lizzy
" Little ghost , blonde hair with lemonade tea, you're very brave and  very free" now it makes sense why she put it on BB

if you think about it, she's always reworked/recycled songs from previous eras for her albums

diet mountain dew was originally conceptualized in 2008, and recorded in 2009, so it's a bit older than most of the born to die tracks, yayo was reworked for paradise, it was originally recorded in 2008 for ldrakalg (although i will say, the original version is 10x better ) old money was reworked from methamphetamines, which is from the lizzy grant era, beautiful people, beautiful problems was originally recorded in 2014, and yosemite was originally recorded in 2015, so it's definitely something she's done before, and i think a lot of other artists probably do the same
