this!! i absolutely LOVE the record - and i mean that with all my heart - but i still have little nitpicky things that bug me a tad or that i'd like to improve, luckily they don't ruin the entire record for me and i'm sure most people who are only casual lana listeners might not even notice them, but i do think if we're gonna talk about the faults anywhere, minor or not, it's gonna be here on lanaboards

i love the sort of half-defeated sarcasm of the title track, i've dated soooooooo many norman fucking rockwells in my time and i've often found that, although not the healthiest thing, i tend to deal with it by saying "well men will be men and it's always gonna be that way and i'm just the latest in the long line of women thru the ages who's dealing with their bullshit.... it's just what you dooooo...."

Yes, absolutely! For everything, Lana and other artists. Original Broadway Cast recordings, Florence and the Machine records, Cirque du Soleil albums, self-created EPs by indie artists, Disney soundtracks etc etc. They all have their production styles, mixing and fuck ups that really interest me and I always wonder why they can't be polished/fixed or rectified.
I'm still really baffled that people on this site think that enjoying the record and acknowledging the faults are mutually exclusive?
My background: Sound design (for theatre), production aficionado, musician.

as much as i am anxious as hell for some kind of potential crazy world war three situation - particularly since our newly-elected prime minister over here in the uk is constantly clinging to trump's coattails and seems deeply eager to impress him, so who knows what he's willing to agree to in terms of allyship - my heart is in pieces for these middle eastern countries that will now be ravaged even further by these rising tensions and the inevitable backlash the innocent civilians will face. already we see regular people dying because of the mess that is militarism and imperialism, but now it's only going to get worse.

i'm worried for myself and for the uk and for america, sure, but there's still a chance things might be okay for us. unfortunately for many countries in the middle east, and for the people who live there that never asked for any of this, their fate is... well, more or less sealed, regardless of what global action is taken after this.

No shade but like a third of the country is full blown racist and another third is complicit.

Send the racist Republicans to the frontlines! They shall not be missed xx

It's strange to see how many people fear WW3 when I feel like we've already been in it for like 15 years

@ the problem is... things weren't exactly different under Bush and Obama, and probably wouldn't be any different under a President Clinton either. This is simply about the US believing they somehow rule the world and can do whatever they want, and kill whoever they want.

USA: *murders heads of states, military leaders, and other high officials, bombs entire villages and cities, kills thousands of civilians and basically destabilises the entire region because war = $$$*

Middle-Eastern countries: *hate everything western and want to destroy the US to take revenge*

    USA:

That CNBC headline made me wince, the media is already in full reactionary propaganda mode. Before a few days ago, a great majority of Americans didn't know who General Soleimani was. Now he's "The World's No 1 Bad Guy"? Is the United States really viewed as any better, or ..?

i did that the other night and was mesmerised by how much emotion she'd pour into her performances... with songs like Y&B and dark paradise, it's like you could see the hurt in her eyes
