Okay this is a mess & a drama but I think that Lana needed to express all her feelings...like it is not good if you hiding your feelings and yeah now Lana kinda "exploded" but maybe that is what she needs to "heal" if you know what I mean...right now it is a mess but maybe she just needed this & it is her try to fight off the monsters that are still under her bed

I wouldn’t mind a single with a music video in August, but that’s it. I’ve told myself that I wouldn’t listen to any snippets this time, and I might not even listen to the lead single if there’s one, depending on when she releases it. I really want to experience a new Lana album from beginning to end without knowing anything.

i really hope she isn’t relapsing and drinking again. i know being stuck at home can be troublesome for those with mental health issues or past addictions. i’m genuinely scared for her.

I think our girl is feeling every emotion she’s had and suppressed for the last 10 years in quarantine. I wish I could give her a hug.

Feel so sorry for her somehow...but yeah the wording could have been better and the name drop wasn't necessary but she is still human after all and yeah think that is good that she finally stood up for herself. She should be proud of her past records instead of being ashamed or whatever bc of critics and so on. Glad that she did even it all ended up in a fucking mess but that's somehow typically for Lana ...she just wanted to share her feelings/thoughts and now is she called a racist. Yeah the name drop wasn't necessary but these are the women who dominate the charts or are successful. If 6 white women or 6 aliens or whatever would be dominate the charts she would have used them as an example...hope y'all know what I mean...that "oh my god she named only women of color even though Ari is not but no matter what Lana is a racist and ewww suddenly can't read between the lines bc she is not not a racist bc she is " is bullshit.
And yeah didn't were a fan until 2015 but I think that she still is hurt from the harsh critics which is only human and with NFR! the critics eaten up Lanas ass bc it was not controvers. I can understand Lana bc she only got "accepted" by critics if she is not a "trouble maker". At least that could be how Lana feels. She wants the freedom to express herself however she wants to without getting harsh critized if its not "basic"or " happy " or whatever.
Maybe my brain goes wild today but I had a thought: We know that Lana was not the easiest child/ teen and she and her mother haven't a good relationship. I can imagine that her mother only could really show her love for Lana when Lana was not a trouble maker and more like a "good child" and maybe if Lana was more like a rebel/ trouble maker her mother was more like ice cold towards Lana for whatever reason but Lana felt not accepted and I think that this is always a issue for Lana in her while life. She never really felt that the critics or the culture accept her the way she is especially when she is more like a trouble maker or controvers. And in the last weeks/months was enough time for overthinking... and yeah it is just a thought maybe it is complete bullshit but yeah like Lana sings in Hope"There are monsters under my bed that I couldn't never fight off"....maybe this is her try to fight off those monsters??

I did a little digging, and since she's confirmed shes working with Simon & Schuster, I went to their website and couldnt find any concrete confirmation that its Lana, but it looks like a poetry book by a female author, with the tags "women authors, lyrics, biography & autobiography" etc (seen here) and on their website under the product details tab here, it seems that maybe this could be Violet or her second book?

Release date is Nov 10, 2020 which would make sense with Lana's album release date (September) so that she can have an album launch and book launch. Might be a reach, but... Thoughts?

Edit- UPDATE: Searched the potential book's ISBN number and came across a website that states it has a run of 250,000 copies, and under the "Librarian's View" tab it says "LDR"
Also, some websites had that ISBN number listed with a release date of Jan 14, 2020, which would've made sense that lana tweeted around that time that it'd be delayed again. My detective work here is done

I'm late to the party but can't believe that a new alboom is coming in September. It feels unreal. And really excited for this upcoming record. It seems like Lana has a lot to tell and after the mothers day post and the post from yesterday I get the feeling that NFR! was the calm before the storm...

I get what you mean, and I don't think it's the case. Let's go album by album...

Honeymoon is the beginning of a new LDR mentality. There's a glimmer of hope here and there, but it's still a tragic record. Going off regarding fame, the critics, the paparazzi... violent men, money, sexual innuendos. I don't think it's tame at all. It's just that she started to realize her worth.

On Lust for Life, she introduced a brand new LDR: happiness is the ultimate goal. It's a very honest album, but this is the only one I think it was so appeal. Which is totally okay. After 2 dark and anti-pop albums, she wanted to sell a reinvented image and theme.

On Norman Fucking Rockwell, Lana explicitly narrates her process to happiness and the struggles of it. It's an incredibly sincere record, much more than Lust for Life because it wasn't made to appeal anyone. Lana herself was left with a bad taste in her mouth when she learned the entire world loved the album. You can tell from the self-defensiveness and bittersweetness in her NFR interviews. And then she went crazy post-Grammy loss. She didn't make this album to appeal anyone. It's just another chapter of sexism in the industry: now that she's happier, is stronger and is singing from a different, more light-hearted POV, everyone loves her?

Also, it's her process. I, as a writer, don't want to expose everything about what's going on in my head in one single project. That doesn't mean I'm tame.

I think some people just want an excuse to hate her and some people want to have someone to critisize for saying something imperfect that doesnt fit in with their agenda. (Not talking about anyone here.)

idk if this would be considered unpopular but i hate how critics and the gp i guess praise the shit out of NFR and say it's her best most "mature" work while saying BTD and UV are childish and cheesy even tho her lyrical content hasn't changed that much, she's still comparing her men to serial killers, singing about cars, drugs, america, cherry coke, the color blue, california, new york, and her desperation and longing to be loved

she has grown away from certain topics like abuse and older men but can you really say something like love song is better than off to the races

Yeah that’s kind of how I feel.
Even her little Mother’s Day speech was telling. A) she’s clearly not cool with her mother right now B) she shouts out the women who aren’t where they hoped to be in life. I feel like that may be her. I remember she said in like 2014 she’d def have kids in 5 years. Yet here we are.

So I feel like, while she’s not totally depressed (“I’m not sad”), she’s also not really satisfied either. I mean, most of NFR was her begging for someone to love her and not abuse her for once. She’s lonely I think
  21. Ocean Boulevard liked a post in a topic by ShadesOfFool in Unpopular Lana Opinions
I think she’s lowkey depressed tbh

I know she’s saying she’s happy and all that, but am I the only one who’s not really buying it? the lyrics of NFR and her own behavior make it seem like she’s not as peachy as she appears.

all of NFR was like “I’m burnt out, I’m tired of doing this, I want a man, I feel like I’m crazy,” etc. I don’t think she’s hardcore depressed, but she seems...defeated? Lonely and just kind of stuck?

I think she takes comfort and in hanging with her girlfriends and chilling by the beach and all that, but I feel like she’s unhappy. Maybe restless.

'Sad Girl' is criminally underrated, the bridge:"I'm on fire baby, I'm on fire", ties with the guitar solo in 'Pretty When You Cry' as the emotional apex of the record in my honest opinion.
  23. Ocean Boulevard liked a post in a topic by JamiDelRey in Unpopular Lana Opinions
I don’t agree that I hate him cause I love the work they did on NFR together but I definitely wish she’d work with different producers for this new album especially with all this fire and passion she seems to have built up right now jack’s style never really pushes it all the way to that “place” other cuts such as blackest day, cruel world, OTTR etc reach sonically idk if I’m rambling or if that makes any sense but yeah I wish she’d keep Jack away from the new record
