I think it was either late July or August 2011, someone I chatted with a lot on tumblr (lol) had reblogged Video Games as an audio file. I was so hooked. I didn't actually listen to a lot of pop back then and was very hard into my mid-west emo/post-rock/math rock phase (all largely male dominated genres) but it reminded me of how much I loved female vocalists. From there I just spent heaps of time in the lana del rey tag, finding AKA tracks which at the time I mistakenly assumed were her newest tracks. Tumblr was absolutely obsessed with her so it was really easy to find unreleased tracks, old photos etc. July 2012 I saw her live in my city and I think that was the moment I decided to stan forever. A few months after that I found lanaboards and the rest is history. I feel like 2011 Ata finding lana is a totally different person to who I am now, but lana has remained a constant. 

I enjoy the epics of this perspective, yet actually don't see Lana thinking on such analytical terms, hahaha

LFL 2.0 is in production. New times, I can already see myself being reminded of Born to Die. Other trap anthems will have an LfL / honeymoon vibe. MIke Dean will revive the old Lana. I also expect a song like OTTR.  Jack will retire, he can't keep up with Mike.  I just hope it doesn't take that long, I'm so excited to see what's coming.

From the whole traditional-Lana-with-a-synth-twist I'm expecting stuff like this: lush retro melodies soaked in psychedelia.
 
 

It feels so weird to know that Jack is officially gone… they created such specific atmospheres together but this is gonna be interesting to see! It was very much needed at this point in her career to switch it up a bit

ottr is perfect as is, the baby voice gives songs like ottr so much character 
 
her current voice is obviously beautiful but there’s something about the way she sang in her older songs, it’s like no one else can sing them but her. 

i really do prefer her old style of writing 

I’ve been listening to Grimes more than Lana lately. I just started listening like a month and a half ago.
 
Kill V. Maim is my all time favorite song of hers so far.
 My other favorites are California, We Appreciate Power, Genesis, Oblivion, Delete Forever, Butterfly, Violence, 4ÆM, Flesh Without Blood, Belly of the Beat, Venus Fly, REALiTi, Vowels= space and time, and Vanessa. There isn’t a Grimes song I’ve heard that I don’t like.
 
Kill V. Maim was the first song of hers that I heard and is what got me to listen to the rest of her music. I can’t get enough of it
