I think articles like that just take the info from the first source they find (like Google and Lana herself saying it's coming September 5th) but they don't have definitive info

My delusional theory is that the album is coming out on September 5th. She did mention the album is coming soon and violet this month. But as in a matter of speech first things come first, album will be released then violet will be released. She could just mess things up just to make it a bigger surprise.

I still firmly believe the album is dropping sept 4th/5th. She hasn’t officially delayed it, and even in the video today I interpreted “soon” as before the violets book comes out, idk just the way she said it. Let me b delusional! 

Full agree. Her early LDR glamour was a significant part of her appeal, and it has nothing per se to do with feminism and objectifying women, because I would have felt the same way if she were a he, and he promoted himself in a very successful, broadly seductive manner through attire, live appearances, photography and video. Perhaps late 50s Elvis Presley would be a good example, or Prince at various stages of his career, or actors like Sean Connery or Cary Grant, who maintained a suave appearance at all times in public.  

LDR's 2012-2013 glamour was part of both her art and her artifice.

I wonder if this album will become her new favourite. When HM came out, I’m pretty sure it became her fav, even though she didn’t say it. She created a whole Instagram account for that era. Then when LFL came out, I have memories of her saying it was her favourite, and then she said the same with NFR. It seems that she loves each new album more than the previous one. Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, my memory isn’t always the best

Even if she shot the cover on set of that video, the album could still come digitally on the 4th. 

We know she was on that lush set where she also filmed today’s Instagram video. That was August 29th. Let’s assume they retouched, edited, and finalized the cover the day after, on August 30th. Then today, got it approved by managers and her label. Quick. 
 
Album only needs to be uploaded to streaming services a day or two in advance. She could upload it on September 3rd for it to come out the 4th. 
 
In her August 2019 interview with KROQ, she said that The Weeknd, for example, could finish a record and put it out the next day, he did that with My Dear Melancholy. I don’t keep up with her, but I think some people on here pointed out that Charli XCX was still recording songs the day before her most recent album even came out? And the album was being mastered in July, which means it was basically done in terms of there being anything left to do in regards to the actual songs. 
 
I still have faith (you may call it delusion, and that’s okay) but ultimately we’ll find out soon - and whatever happens, it’s Lana we’re talking about! She never disappoints.

she said LMLYLAW will be heard before the video will be watched. it’s the only other song we know the name of from the album so far. she could just be wording it as to say we’ll hear the album first. I don’t think it’s delayed, she’s announce the delay and announce the new date I think if she did. Furthermore, the joking about dates either implies she’s poking fun at us or is acknowledging her own delays and is poking fun at herself.

Also - she had the opportunity to say the album wasn’t coming on the 5th in that video and she didn’t; surely she knows that people are expecting it to be and she did confirm that Violet would be delayed; it may have been last minute but she was robbed, you can’t fault her for not expecting to have to delay her project if her bearings aren’t together.
 
I think she purposely ignored saying anything to just reiterate the September date 12 hours before she drops it - but we shall see! I’m excited either way!
