I love: having deep discussions with likeminded people, discovering new music that really speaks to me, cooking, being in the desert and analysing (anything from people’s behaviour to alternate interpretations of a book or film or astrology/ personality types). Also, I really like to help people feel happier or support them in some way. Sometimes I like calling people out too (in a civilised way!). Lol, what can I say? I guess I contain multitudes. Also I always make the worst puns.
 
I hate: how life is intrinsically unfair. Seriously I am too much of an idealist, I always want good people to be treated well by the universe and am heartbroken when I see them suffer. I hate when people abuse their power or psychologically manipulate vulnerable people. I’ve also never understood the point of racism, sexism, classism etc... like I understand why some people look for divisions in order to self aggrandise, but can’t they see that the resultant violence and animosity causes in the long term damages to everyone, even them someday. Finally, I hate how verbose I am. Sometimes I need to stop being so damn existential!

As people have already said, this isn't even about Lana for me. It's about acknowledging your platform and using your influence to encourage your followers to look into the situation and not just accept it or choose to opt-out. Racism isn't only an issue for PoC, but everyone, and simply having the choice to stay silent is a luxury. How would it feel to live in a supposedly free country where your brother, son, partner etc might go to the grocery store only to never return? How would it feel to know that because of something they were born with, they are not allowed to simply exist without having suspicion and accusation directed their way? And the ironic thing is, people are accepting of the culture they just aren't accepting of the people behind it which is the most painful part of all for me. It's like exoticism, enjoying the positives from afar but never being driven enough to go further in acknowledging the deep pain and struggles rooted in the fabric of this country that is the foundation of every part of the culture.
I respect Lana has her own issues to handle, but there comes a point when you have to demonstrate the kindness of your heart through your responses and not only your personal assertions.
I have to disagree that celebrities (and everyone for that matter) being vocal doesn't change anything or will be forgotten. This is exactly the kind of response that feeds suppression even though I know you're not intending to be dismissive.

Lana isn’t a racist. Don’t believe she ever was. A racist wouldn’t have ever made a music video with a black husband as president and mixed children. I believe generally shes a bit ignorant when it comes to politics, we see even from feminism she hasn’t much interest in it. Alot of artist minds live in their own bubble, especially so as we battle mental illness. I’m bipolar and have had really dark times, at those times did you think I was coherent enough to follow along with what was going on in the world? I couldnt. My mind wasnt really “there”. I didn’t feel real most of the time. I cared for people yes. I was also tired and lost. Going through suffocating depression and pain. To be able to be healthy enough now mentally and to be alot more present in the world than before feels like a blessing. No one knows whats truly in a n y o n e s hearts. People can say the most perfect things, act in the most perfect way, all for show, concealing their true self. Who knows what celebrities truly care and have empathy? Dont believe in everything you see.... but besides that, i truly feel that Lana does care and she isn’t racist. She just most likely isnt super educated on the topic. And thats okay, she can learn. Whats important is she has empathy and a good heart and good morals.
 
Instead of tearing apart people for what they dont know, teach them. Dont attack them and single them out, come together snd teach one another. Its easier to teach someone ignorant with a good heart about these issues than someone ignorant with an evil heart and terrible beliefs.
