    Bartender is a great song.

Wildflower Wildfire was my immediate favorite of the three. Blue Banisters had somewhat better lyrics, but it had to grow on me. I’m so shocked Text Book got so much love from people.  The BLM lyric makes me cringe so hard. I LOVE switch-ups in songs, which is why West Coast was truly an amazing experience the first time I heard it and still remains to me one of her best songs. But in Text Book? It sounds like a mess. I get offended every time someone compares it to West Coast or even claims it’s the best of the three... NOPE. Absolutely not. I don’t like the production. I just don’t like the song at all. I wish it was never released~ and that is TRULY my most unpopular opinion.

Rick Nowels was the GOAT. I miss him on Lana's production.

I feel like Freak is a bit underrated on this website. It's a banger and I absolutely love the instrumental.

I hate when people say that only now Lana is showing herself and at the begging of her career she displayed the image that her record company wanted. They're practically stating what the media said about her when she debuted.

And I do believe that she has a persona, everybody has one. She changed because she got older and have other views, was exposed to different things, acquired other tastes, have new friends... Not because her persona is fading

hoping this doesn't come across harsh and/or selfish but....

stage fright, slightly uncomfortable, deer in the headlights, worried about how she sounds and performs Lana >>>> literally not giving a fuck, doing the bare minimum, forgetting she's even on stage Lana

i don't wish anxiety on her whatsoever so this isn't 100% serious of course, but i miss when she actually cared about her performances  even if it occasionally made her voice a little shaky it was still captivating to watch!

Of course Annie got uncomfortable as it went on, but people are acting like Lana turned to politics completely unprompted while Annie tried to discuss the music. Asking about 2020 is a loaded question, of course she's going to get into politics. She just didn't do it in as streamlined and concise of a manner as people would have liked, but her points were totally valid and she has every right to express them.

Complex is too major of a publication for total trash clickbait headlines like that, especially given the long relationship they have with Lana. It was completely disrespectful and tasteless.

I figured the Mountain Dew was about that guy (can't remember his name) with longer hair on his myspace? Iirc he had a direct image of Diet Mountain Dew & even a picture of fetuses and how he wanted to name them Lana and Ray, which was also the man that potentially inspired Wayamaya?

Also Afraid is a song (to me) about escaping physical abuse, could she have 'extremified' the type of abuse and written along the same scenario you think? Like she had to leave because of his relapse and she was possibly afraid of his potential abuse or how much he'd wither?

    Lucky Ones too? holy shit

This isn't related to the quotes but I'm both amazed, terrified, and heartbroken reading all of this. Not because it's such a death ridden life but because it's so interesting reading all of this down to the specific wire. Even in it's early days literally nothing is ever NOT found on the internet, think about celebrities living similar lives to Lana's ten years ago but right now, everything they'll ever fucking do will be even more findable than these- and all these examples are from an internet era in which everything was harder to use.

It's also insane just seeing how much we know about one persons life- we have threads about her as Lizzy even fucking babysitting in photos, a thread about finding her boyfriend that supposedly murdered people and was sent for a death pentalty (the fact people have even found his NAME is scary.)- stuff so secret and private and yet here we are, hundreds of fans she doesn't know finding out everything about her- even information she herself probably had forgotten. It's also such a goddamn telling tale and fantasy, her life before fame is literally a plotline that would've been written as a book years ago and would've become a tragic literary american classic, I hope when she's older she can remember all of these things and produce a fully transparent auto biography, because her life is SUCH a work of art.

Every little reference just makes her entire discography that much richer and more telling, the simplest titles inspired some of her best work, i love her so, so much- she's the only person that deserves the entire world in my opinion

I like homemade videos, but this felt very limited. Previous homemade vids had concepts/stories behind them and the ones that didn't had planned out shots or looks. She previously used much more camera techniques, even things as basic as zoom, tilt or close ups. Consider the unreleased Honeymoon video, nothing much happens in terms of plot, but it's so visually captivating because of the way she filmed it. This really felt like cobbled together footage found on her phone with maybe 30~ seconds of planned footage. There's a noticeable difference between a lazy homemade vid and one that had lots of thought and effort put it into it.

I liked you as a user but wow, this post and your other posts regarding this situation are so mean and unnecessary.

There’s really no justification in what Alexa did.. reading that Insta post made me really upset, I’m surprised she didn’t get much backlash.

y’all need to relax, i hate the cop but he was in 2 seconds of the video and his head was cut off. this video was obviously a montage of her time in between the 2 records, it’s not like they’re dating anymore he was just apart of that time in her life

Sooooo, I got my receipts. Found out she was (yes, was, cause she died of cancer in 2018) a poet and lecturer, her name was Anya Krugovoy Silver and this is the post, written by her husband shortly after her death: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm0iqq0FfM1/
With special greetings to @Lentilus  Won't ever forget you being so incredibly nice to me.

Don't feel bad. I absolutely abhor that Alex woman. I hate her. I don't care about Ashley but that other one omfg-  No.

Before anybody tells me I'm a bitch, here's the reason: I saw screenshots of a message that a woman with cancer sent to Alex, Ashley and Lana, asking if she could meet Lana before she dies or something and Alex saw it and answered with "LOL" and that was it.
Literally, if Lana would've been allowed to use her first NFR cover sitting on the rock with the two dancers, I would have made my own album cover and glued it over that one. The first time ever I was grateful for Ben and Ed.

Wait, I'll search for receipts and see if I can find anything about that incident...

not to be dramatic but that video killed my hype for this album for good this is much worse than i expected. And before someone quote me with "lollll ok", visuals do 50% of the job in the music for me

it's not my favorite, but i can appreciate it regardless, you can tell she's proud of it and she's happy to put it out. i just wish it was only her, not her friends or anything, i'm tired of seeing them everywhere, especially her dancers, i know she loves them but i want a music video with only lana!
