I have loved everything she’s released consistently since I was like 10
Ocean Bald will be no exception

I like that most teenagers and twinks that grew up listening to BTD are now adults and enjoy listening to BB and will enjoy the new album.

That’s not true tho? A lot of her newer fans are teens. There’s a reason why her songs are all over TikTok (even newer ones like the NFR title track and Dealer). Gen Z loves her.

How is he settling her up? His descriptions so far have been true and this is HIS opinion.

BOZ says on Twitter it’s gonna be a very wordy poetic long album, not bound to traditional songwriting

So, what are your predictions for the next single? And will the title track get a MV? (If not, I think it’s safe to consider it a fan track rather than the lead)

honestly the fact that people think that reaching 40 and chart flopping is becoming a legacy act is both sad and borderline misogynistic
and i'm not even saying that to defend lana it's just in general
cher is a legacy act, jlo is a legacy act, shakira is a legacy act
madonna is not a legacy act, beyoncé is not a legacy act, and lana is definitely not a legacy act nn

Waiting for her team to update her pfp on Apple Music and Spotify (and the cover of the “This is LDR” playlist, while they’re at it)

Lana is not a legacy act lmao . She’s still reaching new highs and is constantly gaining new & younger fans that are checking for her new releases. Just look at TikTok. It doesn’t mean that she’s nearing 40 that she’s automatically a legacy act like,, she’s only 10 years into her mainstream career.

I hope she’ll drop a new single + video in January or February, once the holidays are over. Or at least let us know the full tracklist. It’d be perfect, we got this single now and it’ll keep us happy for a while, and a second single to hype us up again a month or a month and a half before the album is released.

No it's trew it's trew
Just look at the fact that she's IN THE TOP 5 MOST VIRAL ARTISTS OF SPOTIFY WRAPPED 2022
she IS the only artist in that top 5 has no #1 hit on hot 100, or even top 10, her best-selling album, her prime era which is TD only have one single charted - Video Games only peaked #91.
let that sink in.

Her career is bigger than it’s ever been, only people on lanaboards are Delulu about this-she’s never been top 10 on streaming before, her songs constantly go viral on tik tok-the charts mean shit now

Your tone is weirdly negative It's ok if you don't like the song but it seems like you're trying to CONVINCE people she's doing something wrong

I actually shed a tear when she said "love me until i can love myself" - it's hurt yet so beautiful & i can connect deeply to it.
It's been a while since i have tis feeling again listening to her, I loved chemtrails, i loved BB, but i didn't find this very same feeling where i can feel like she said to me that "hey, i've been there to, i got you" like this song.
To me, it might be her best lead single since M.A.C.

I think Lana shot this around January 16 according to her Insta

because it’s the same bra and blouse. She put a halter bikini over the bra

No offence but the way some of you talk about her old stuff makes it seem like you have no actual grasp on her sound or style
I'm willing to bet most of you need a refresher and havent actually listened to say UV or HM or hell even NFR in a while and are just parroting the most common ways those albums get described
Get a grip
Anyways, March 10th cant come quick enough. I kinda dont want her to put other songs out before that though

Yeah, you have a point that anyone who places themselves in the business of music obviously wants a platform and wants to perform well on that platform -- but she already does. Over the last few years I have only seen Lana's fanbase grow thanks to streaming/things like Tik Tok. Heaps of people are discovering Lana everyday from a new trend on Tik Tok or an unreleased song gaining traction, whatever. If they tune in and find out they only like BTD or UV, great, that is always there for them to listen to then -- and they will probably! I don't think that she or anyone should be worried about her fanbase "shrinking" due to her sound.
Also, I think that the argument that she "doesn't care" about sales isn't that she would sell 10 copies and shrug it off, but rather that she's happy she has people who do love her music and the actual numbers of that success is secondary to that.

i'm still taking in the song/ processing but from listening,
there's a similarity to IYLDWM at the intro
thematically, it's like a thinner cold air sister track to Hope
has that airy feel/ atmosphere like bb's title track
there's an anthemic quality that's reminiscent to a race, sim to BTD
fuck me to death just intuitively feels like paradise
camarillo ref makes me think of yayo
themes of self-consoling, acceptance, tiredness, tired longing
the vocal run towards the end reminding me of mariah
what i love about it that i can grasp into words atm is the fluttering quality of the song (hiab ref in feel), but just the honesty that makes it's way thru despite apparent bleakness the song sets. the vulnerability after a quest's been completed, or like a drive back home after a long period
