Jesus. I just watched her Instagram video and my heart sank. I'm still processing it, just like we all are. I do agree with many of you that it is strange that she is doing this as her new album is being rolled out.  It reminds me of an interview she did many years ago, where she was talking about her past and how she spent a lot of time volunteering and doing work to help others. I wonder if she's getting back to doing that. I also remember interview a long time ago that mentioned she was looking at possibly writing a musical or something for Broadway? I could be wrong, ultimately I just hope she's okay and that nothing tragic happened to trigger all of this. When I think back on different things she said over the years, I remember when Ultraviolence was being rolled out and she said made a statement in an interview, along the lines about how she didn't want anyone to hear it. I really do believe she struggles with Fame and all that comes with it, and now that her sister's baby has been born, maybe she's realizing that she wants to dedicate her life to other things right now. Sorry for rambling, my head is spinning right now, I just really truly hope she's okay. I was paying attention to her tone and her blinking and she definitely seemed sad in that video. Still, I'm looking forward to the new record just like everyone else is ❤

After this week I’m literally entirely desensitised but this has me so distraught I’m just gonna completely forgo the rest of the work I was supposed to do tonight bc I cannot focus at all now and go to sleep lmaooo  (even though this really shouldn’t upset me as much as it is and I totally understand her decision as I took a ~2 year social media hiatus myself and it truly did wonders for my mental health) x

Okay, I left her a little goodbye message. I just hope she knows how much we all love her and will miss her as she's gone! Hope she returns one day soon whenever she feels ready, and at least we'll have the music and any other gifts she shares to remind us that she's not so far away as it may seem.

of course, if that's the case (which it very well might be something else) i totally understand needing privacy during a time like that, at the end of the day, i hope she's going okay and she's doing this for her

Feels awful to speculate.  I already regret posting this reply, lol. But it’s just so weird. Or maybe she’s receiving some sort of treatment somewhere. The whole “she needs privacy” thing is intriguing and also somewhat concerning. But I guess we aren’t owed an explanation. 

I just think it’s hilarious that the roll out for this new album has been so good, especially compared to Chemtrails and now she’s all “here’s my old passport photo, oh and i’m leaving public view now, enjoymynewalbumbye”.

i think w her, it's just probably real taxing to get a lot of stuff out into her music bc it usually comes from a very genuine place. she's broken up w 'round 2 guys that meant a lot to her. her sister had a kid. working thru the pandemic the way she has. 

she mentioned always wanting to be a poet and she's got the path for that better now. among the other things she mentioned here n there as mentioned by this forum. 

it's like when u work real hard and believe in what you do, but also, it just takes a lot outta you. album 3's supposed to be out who knows when but it's already in the works. i think it's great to find the courage to take a step back and change course. it makes life sweeter and fuller. 

but the bottomline is, it's always nice to be at least thought of, and she was direct w communicating w us in that way, which is probably what startled a lot of us on here cus we're used to her just posting whatever til the music's out.

I watched the video and she does seem off. And “we’re deleting my social media” seems very suspicious. This doesn’t sound like a her thing, this sounds like she’s being forced into being silenced

I wonder if it’s because there’s been a lot of negative comments about her body/weight in the last year. Obv not directing this at anyone here but I have seen people saying some pretty mean shit elsewhere and eventually that’s gonna make an impact. 

Yeah the timing is just bizarre. She was posting so much these days and she does seem genuinely excited and proud of the new record so this decision to deactivate is shocking.

At the end of the day, none of us know what's going on behind the scenes. This could've been something Lana's been thinking about doing for a long time and is finally ready to do, or it could've just been a spur of the moment decision. We don't have all the details and are most likely never going to unless we were told directly by Lana herself. I truly just hope that she's doing well and that this is something that is going to make her happy
