Social media is neat for an artist's career nowadays.
But Lana's clearly desperate to leave this platform already, since the QTFC stuff. Maybe she thought it was about time to dip

I think the general consensus is that when you're signed to a major label, you have an obligatory duty to meet them halfway by promoting your music on social media, which will put money into the record label's pockets (which in turn will be put towards the artist to make more music). Obviously Lana is her own person and she has the freedom to leave social media (which she has done), however, she is essentially a businesswoman and her entire persona of Lana Del Rey is tied with her label. I don't know why people have a hard time accepting that? That's how business works. 
 
I think the issue in this thread as a whole is that everything is black and white. Where's the grey area? We can agree that yes, using Instagram will be beneficial for her career (especially in these modern times), and we can also agree that Lana getting rid of her socials is good for her on a personal level.

Lana is a human being like any other. She can drop her job, change, do it for free it's her choice. This won't change the fact that the music industry is a business and some things may be seen as unprofessional

It is a business if you signed a contract to a company. It's not rocket science. You make music to sell, and some of that money goes to the company. How do you sell? You promote. How do you promote your music in 2021? You use social media. DING! DING! DING!
 
I'm all for Lana deleting her socials if she needs to but can we not play dumb and let our personal feelings interfere with basic facts regarding the music industry and how things are supposed to work for the modern artist?

I understand that Lana has problems but some people here are so overly emotional about constructive criticism. We can't just make excuses for every single unprofessional thing she has done. Literally every time someone outside of Unpopular Opinions thread dares to give constructive criticism stans always say "she's a human being leave her alone ".
 
I made this account for a reason, checked today that I have around 70 saved songs by her but this pre release era is so underwhelming and disappointing unless she has a surprise and this was all a part of the plan. 
 
Also, Lana has a different fan base than Lorde and Fiona. Lana's fan base is also volatile and you're living in an eco chamber if you (not you @Roman Nockwell specifically) think otherwise, except that they don't get distracted by other music but rather lose interest if it's "more boring" and hardly return after being underwhelmed. 

I think from Chemtrails album she would only perform "Let Me Love You Like a Woman" and "For Free". And from Blue Banisters, so far, none. 
 
I would like her to include "Thunder" in the setlist.
