When she sings I really feel that Summertime Sadness™ even though we're in the midst of spring

Something I've been thinking about a lot recently is the similarities in the fan receptions of COCC and LFL - both albums have songs that have gone on to become fan favorites and will probably become LDR classics (13 beaches, cherry, heroin, change, get free - white dress, tulsa jesus freak, dark but just a game, and yosemite to some extent), and they have songs that are generally hated by most fans and are considered by a lot of them to be her worst tracks (lust for life, coachella, when the world was at war, BPBP - LMLYLAW, breaking up slowly, and for free). I don't think this is something uncommon for an artist/album, but it's something I've really noticed with these two

RCS gives me that hip-hop summery vibe. I hope all these speculations about Mike being involved in her project (this one to be specific) become true.
He’s made nothing but pure hip-hop classic and Lana has shown she is able to pull an exquisite record of that genre.

I've just realised there's nothing wrong with Jack Antonoff. He's an amazing producer, what he did with Lorde and St. Vincent is splendid, but he doesn't know how to work with Lana properly. His sparing production doesn't go well with her voice that suits cinematographic sounds and rich arrangements. I'm so damn tired of all this folk on Chemtrails and soft rock on Norman. Not my cup of tea at all. Even Chemtrails over the Country Club, which is a wonderful track and reminds me of Lana's orchestral majestic tunes known from Paradise EP, would sound better if produced by Nowels, Heath, Auerbach, Haynie or even Kahne.
I do realise Nowel's work with Lana went/seems to have gone downwards in Lust for Life but it's obvious they were aiming for more commercial sound, more appealing to the younger fanbase. A demo of Lust for Life the song is absolutely phenomenal; the released version is unbearable.
Also don't wanna sound rude but Lana's country vibe seems inauthentic. She isn't a country girl. She's been raised in NY, she lives in LA... for God's sake.
I don't mind her experimeting as an artist but if you ask me for opinion, this is just "meh ok" from me. I feel unbothered by the latest album, even if it seems cute, I just know it doesn't evoke much emotions in me and I don't feel like listening to it except for the title track and Tulsa Jesus Freak. Besides, I find it quite stupid to add Yosemite and Architecture on Jack-produced albums. Not only do they lose consistency, but also they lose their power there. With Yayo it was different because it was a reworked version with a completely different tone.
And do not tell me it is a popular opinion for wanting Jack to go; critics love him and as long as they do I doubt Lana will forgo working with him.

What if RCS is her hip hop magnum opus and that's why she said that she would challenge the thoughts on cultural appropriation?

White Hot Forever was meant to be a sad album, full of love and break up songs. Or that's what an magazine said back in early 2020, before Lana announced the album was going to be called Chemtrails instead. We all thought the original concept was going to be about the cop

I feel like today is THAT DAY!!!!! We r gonna be fed with some spicy info from Ms Lana herself. She will be bored out of hell and will finally spill some tea about RCS.
That's how the clown inside my head is telling me...

Agree with separated albums, but 13B and BP would ruin Honeymoon. HM is perfect in the way it is

What I mean with 13 beach and bp is that they fit so well the theme of honeymoon. But of course they would need a new production. The demo of 13 was described as a scary movie soundtrack, exactly how she described the title track for honeymoon. But yea, HM is beautiful the way it is.

Idk I love this album so much more than Norman and it's so beautiful and idk the nature vibes that I get from Chemtrails is something that I didn't know I needed from her but I needed it ... love it so much
It feels like walking around in the nature, through beautiful landscapes, magical forests , seeing waterfalls & castle ruins, watching the clouds & chemtrails in the sky, sitting at a bonfire at night , reflecting & contemplating about your life

Anyone else stream Chemtrails for a couple days and then never return to it? I really wanna like Lana's new stuff... but something fundamental has changed with her since Lust for Life. Maybe it's all Jack? Hard to know. I respect that artists need to change and grow, but this shift is such a bummer for me coz early Lana was my favorite music of the decade.

there is no genre at all that salvatore would fit into. with this song she broke all boundaries. it's not my favorite song, but I wonder how she managed to create such a mysterious atmosphere. It's similar with Terrence Loves You. This song is so mysterious, it's almost as if it tells of a long forgotten time. Could it be that Lana is a Chanel that has access to the old great era?
