I’m going to get shit for this but I find NFR to be her most unauthentic piece of work. This album in general just doesn’t have that same feeling as her past work. It’s not the aesthetics, it’s not the production, it’s just the way how her emotions are presented on the album. It’s like she’s holding them back and is restrained. The romance and the sadness are just not… there. That’s one thing about Lana that has always stood out about her than other pop artists, it’s the way how she presents her emotions. Yeah some people like to shit on her for being overly emotional or in other words “pretentious” but that’s how she fucking expresses herself. That’s what makes her Lana. Even some of the controversial cuts on LFL sounded more authentic than the material off of NFR. And even Honeymoon, which seems like an acquire taste for some fans, has her belting out lyrics on GKIT and seducing vocals on MTWBT. However, NFR doesn’t showcase much on the more romantic and sadder tracks. The instrumentation doesn’t bring much to the table either. And I can’t bare to hear How to Disappear on that awful fucking production.

I hate to say this but NFR was a bland and overly hyped album that the anti-Lana critics could only handle and enjoy.

Blue Banisters - painted self-portrait album cover with clear vinyl concept.

A simple portrait because this album is shaping to essentially be an extensive self-examination.

Lana giving up Rick Nowels is like giving up a sugar daddy for a broke ass incel.

I miss Rick’s grand strings and that bombarding bass. It sounds like home.

I want Lana to go back to working with Tim Larcombe. He has co-written some of Lana's most iconic songs and I'm so here for it  Off to the Races, Cherry, Gods and Monsters, I Talk to Jesus

That’s why it’s the best song off of COCC

Lana doesn’t need music videos when her voice paints it for us.

I find LFL to be her weirdest album in terms of her strongest and worst tracks. The album has some of her best work (Heroin, Change, Cherry, 13 Beaches, and as much I dislike Get Free, it’s better than the majority of COCC),
controversial (Summer Bummer, White Mustang, Tomorrow Never Came) and then some of her worst (In My Feelings, Coachella and both of ASAPs tracks).

COCC might have been cohesive but the majority of the tracklist sounded so similar to the point of being bland and unidentifiable. (Aside from Wild at Heart, Yosemite and Dark But Just a Game)

I just heard BB on our local 'cool'/alternative radio station (RRR-FM). They've been playing a bit of Lana the past few years, but what's interesting is that they're very much aimed at the 30+ age crowd, which I think is going to be a big chunk of Lana's audience into the future (good for business, because we have more disposable income).
