Can’t believe Lana is on her 8th album in 10 years and Lorde has not even put out her third. 
 
I honestly think it’s hurt her relevancy, releasing every 4 years is becoming old fashioned. Fans need music every 18 months at the max these days,

Her best era truly was when she dropped Bad Liar & Fetish in summer 2017. Those two truly were iconic songs

I’m losing interest in Lana sadly. I’ll always listen to the work she puts out but I just feel such a disconnect lately, idk why. I hope the new album surprises me but if not I’ll probably revert to casual listener status.
 
Up till NFR I felt like I could relate to her music but as it becomes more mature and stripped back I think I’m just losing interest. It could be because I’m still relatively young but I just miss the fire she brought to her albums. NFR was obviously more folky but the fire was still there in songs like Mariners, Venice and The Greatest. I like Chemtrails but it aged really poorly for me and I only go back to White Dress. Idk.
 
As cheesy as it sounds and idc if it makes me a “local” I loved and appreciated the little things (teasers, effort put into artwork, effort put into shows and visuals). I get what she’s going for with this nonchalant approach but for me what drew me to Lana was her attention to detail in regard to those aspects. And I definitely miss the more theatrical, dramatic elements to the songs. I guess I’m just not as into this more mature sound.

HM is a Portishead-level trip hop record, UV was a jazz-rock-fusion album and Venice Bitch is the raw psychodelic essence of the hippie movement
I don't know why some people on here are so scared of the fact she still mostly does alt-pop and have to put fancy genre labels on things where they obviously do not fit ?

i saw her on the la to the moon tour and you could barely hear her over the backtrack in most parts, her voice after endless summer was never as good and that’s fine but it’s true

idk how y'all are complaining, already calling it boring, - she's reaching for a man to take away her pain, it's giving me black beauty vibes, and who is to say there is not a shake your ass moment on the album, we all know lana has a foot fetish with clay, so y'all need to relax with the whole complaining. its truly revealing you need to Stan someone who does radio hits. 
sis was smoking a cigarette in Texas a month ago, so y'all need to calm down about her being "too mature" like the song feels deep, not some bop like cherry to twerk to (love her too tho)

i really don’t think u have to be “old” to relate to the lyrics. she’s literally talking about a man who she thought she was going to spend her life with and “fix her” but he left.
 
the snippet is sad, haunting and i def can see it building up especially since it sounds like the opening verse. black beauty starts with very simple piano chords just like this and turns into something explosive. it’s like everytime we here a piano we think jack ruined it but it’s pretty obvious mike dean took part in this song considering he’s posted about it and jack hasn't 

I feel as though it's kind of unreasonable to expect Lana to be singing about doing drugs and being a "sad girl" forever. If she does/had done that with every single album of hers, it would grow tired over time. She's not the same person she was 7-10 years ago, and that's perfectly okay. It's also perfectly okay to prefer her older work. But it's important for everyone to realize that no matter what, she is going to evolve and change. Expecting her to be one thing for her entire career isn't fair to her
 

She can't sing about snorting coke and chasing after sugar daddies forever, if she did it would feel like a regression imo. Sis is almost 36, let's not chastise her for wanting to have kids and a normal peaceful life like most people her age

Manifesting something hopeful, introspective, and beautiful. 
 

Love that Clay is embracing his Brokeback Mountain era ?

Blue Banisters kind of feels like the older sister to Video Games. Both seem to focus on the sweetness of the more mundane moments with someone you love, doing trivial shit like playing video games and painting the house. It’s cute. 

The video may be good but we all know the album and single cover be taken like

Does anybody else notice that her hair/makeup looks exactly the same as her jimmy fallon performance. I think theres a possibility that the BB mv was filmed at the same time.

I feel like this album is going to be even more personal than Chemtrails was. She seems to be all about telling her own story and I hope she really owns her own narrative on this record. I am happy to hear her sing about wanting stability, a happy and peaceful home life, and how she will continue to be herself authentically. That, to me, is the revenge she could very well be talking about. Finding balance even when circumstances suggest otherwise.
