talking about male voices - I really wish she recorded something with SYML cause I got so excited when I saw his name in the cover. their voices would fit so well together 

why are we dragging FJM and LTLI when both BOZ and Kintsugi said it is a highlight on the album. Sadly he is SOTB’d but I guess that’s good for the twinks who can’t stand male voices  anyways his voice is outstanding unlike Jack and Jon so if we are worried about something it better be Candy Necklace and Margaret 

not the FJM slander i simply think y’all just haven’t gone deep enough into his discography… if you haven’t listened to one of his albums front to back and paid full attention then please don’t speak on him. his background vocals are going to serve

yep, i agree. she’s definitely not as “blunt” about her beliefs as a lot with women are, but you can tell with her lyrics and everything that she is definitely a feminist. i’m sick of the “romanticizing abuse” thing too, i don’t get it- why can’t she just write about her pain and experiences without being called a whore? makes me wonder about the line from “A&W,” referencing rape and how people believed she’d have asked for it if she was raped. maybe that’s a comment on all of the people saying she romanticizes and asks for sexual abuse.

lovelovelovelove her nonfiction works, have yet to read play it as it lays though but it's def on my list. 'Slouching Towards Betlehem' is one of my all time favs, would highly recommend

I finished reading 'Play It As It Lays' by Joan Didion & I don't know how to feel. it reminded me of TS Eliots 'The Waste Land' - “I can connect nothing with nothing.”
& the final szn of Mad Men (which MUST'VE taken inspiration from it). Its a sad, lonely & desperate novel but stunning.. it's no wonder she is heralded as such a fantastic writer. 
I'm looking fwd to watching the netflix docu on her soon / checking out more of her novels.
 
besides that, I'm in the middle of 'On The Road' by Jack Kerouac & Leonard Cohen's 'A Ballet of Lepers' rn  & will review those when finished
