Lana is the QUEEN of the universe. She can do what she wants.

What's for sure...there will definitely be at least:
- one track with piano (like it or not but don't you lie as if one of your fave Lana tracks has a piano) [as one of the credited instruments]
- one track with an acoustic guitar [as one of the credited instruments]
- one track with an electric guitar [as one of the credited instruments]
- one track with beats/drums/"electronic or upbeat elements" [as one of the credited instruments]
- one track with strings/orchestral/symphonic elements [as one of the credited instruments]
 
Because every album of hers have had these each instruments in different songs

Kintsugi is perfect as it is and it would be worse if there wasn't this filter over her voice 

I honestly find it funny that she grouped Chemtrails with BB and Ocean Blvd like can she point directly to where the wordy songs are 

Oh geez, well, I mean what can I say now? What can I say now? I mean when I, when I gave Jack Antonoff his award, um, for best producer of the year, and I said, you know, in case, I said "Welcome Nashville to Hollywood and Hollywood welcome... Nashville because the music business has gone gawn country" and it went SILENT. Five thousand... people, DEAD silent, and then the next week, we had three major artists announce big country albums. So, where is Lasso going? I really have no idea now... you know what I mean??

she gave off words that were totally up to interpretation, which is highkey annoying. 
i thought lasso was still coming, but after seeing all the comments saying its cancelled, im just confused now.

Ok, after letting this simmer a little bit, L4na was talking about the reception of the album. How it’s going to be received. She said “I really have no idea now!”. She didn’t the mean the direction of the album. She meant the reception.
 
“American Songbook”. She meant the lyrics specifically. Not the genre or the sound. The album is still country. They were asking her about the lyrics. The album is going to be more melodic and less self-revealing. LYRICALLY. In a similar vein to The Great American Songbook. LYRICALLY.
 
I don’t think she’s changing her mind or whatever.

I’ve watched the interview again and I also don’t think lasso is cancelled (though maybe it won’t be called lasso anymore haha)
I think her response was to him saying she going country and she is saying that at the time it was country driven but now it’s not quite that and more in the vein of American songbook.. and she also made a comment in the other interview about how she thinks spoken word, beat poetry is going to be the next thing in music.. so maybe she’s hinting towards that a bit 
I think maybe the reception to her announcing the album was cold- I remember saying that after watching the clip, but wasn’t sure if that was just standard etiquette for the award show she was at! And yeah, maybe she was worried about the public reception to her going country seemingly after other big artists have done first 
 
so yeah, I just hope it’s still coming September whatever sound we’re getting, I was warming to the country idea but honestly, an Americana sound would excite me more anyway 

How about we stop decoding what she said and we start acting like we don't care about Lasso so it comes out faster.

Regardless does she change the genres/styles and the concept or not, we're in for a masterpiece! There will definitely be a brilliant 10/10 track that's a fan-favorite that we'll never stop talking about! So we all should be excited and not worry!

I still think it’s coming but her “hesitance” to that question was more so about how her speaking about it at this point, now that everyone’s doing country, would not be as novel - of course, I’m inferring this based on her subsequent comment about how three major artists announced country albums. So I think that doesn’t necessarily mean anything about the album, just that she perhaps wants to let it speak for itself since it’s kind of on trend in a way - but it’s Lana, so it’s still going to be fully her. And obviously anything she says about an album is novel, so we’re perched regardless!

idk I choose to be delusional in thinking it’s coming this year. She really says whatever tf she wants and that whole video is a prime example. Plus she told Elle it was coming this year like 2 weeks ago. When that interviewer asked about the album coming this year she didn’t correct him and say it was delayed so I think maybe she just misunderstood his question or something. I’m a lasso September/October truther and that’ll never change

Lana did hint at this album being more simpler in terms of lyricism back in that Hollywood Reporter interview last year I believe - i guess we could speculate parts of the album were decided by then. I think the album is still being fiddled around with just like with NFR! when it was originally supposed to have 11 tracks, like maybe Tough is an addition to the album and we'll need to wait for further confirmation. Also I don't think Lana cares that much if she's being seen as someone copying them and at the end of the day she's gonna deliver a much different take on the genre. All and all to me this is just confirmation that she's still changing things with the album which isn't always bad news
