i’m 17
if she follows the same pattern
When The Pawn (1999) - Extraordinary Machine (2005) = 6 years
Extraordinary Machine (2005) - The Idler Wheel (2012) = 7 years
The Idler Wheel (2012) - Fetch The Bolt Cutters (2020) = 8 years
Fetch The Bolt Cutters (2020) - FA6? (2029) = 9 years
that’s (almost, since it’s already december) 5 years from now, i’ll be 23

so it's been a long day, good n bad but. it's quiet now.
I don't think it's exactly fair or whatever to share my thoughts seeing how we're kinda being breadcrumbed of info atm or rather it's just plain DRY but. some thoughts n genuine interest that I've been having cus it's just a curiosity for me to learn or understand more n more but I'm thinking about the topics that the album'll have.
will there be a response to the gen public, or more so her fans about her marriage in which fans don't agree? what's the counterpoint/ answer to that? it's not our business, but we know her to speak for herself so.
married life.
the right person will stay, the wrong person will go. that brings about questions surrounding, direction. distance. timelines, two trains. was it introspective? more external? or how much of a blend of both. does fame play a part in all of it.
an update on the situations of dreams being realized, and some to save towards their growth for later.
with what she wanted, was it the way that she expected it to be? or was it something different, and will she document the beauty in that.
who she still is, separate from everything, or more so, more of herself because of everything.
will she have alligators on the cover as ski's on the bayou?
desires. desire.
I can wait, would rather not, but it's nice to think about these things as some kind of exercise of asking questions to life.

I haven’t had much to say since she announced this, but my gut is telling me that it won’t be final and there’s still another name change / rework coming our way

Who knows? She may be inspired by the catastrophic LA fires to change direction and plans again, as she did about a year ago with the earlier formulation of Lasso. And the fires aren't over--Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and even the San Fernando Valley may burn before this ends.
As the Pitchfork writer mentioned, she never released White Hot Forever and Rock Candy Sweet, though we probably know them in different forms as COCC and BB.

Sick and depressed, what Trump could do now is role the country back 150 years and he could rewrite the Constitution and turn America into some Handmaids Tale Dystopia, he will probably abolish fixed terms and extend his reign another 4 years or indefinitely.

What a horrible day for America. This is a loss for the community, the climate, the culture, and literally everyone else except maybe Elon M*sk. I can’t believe people are this fucking STUPID but here we are. I’m so sorry for all my American lipsters. I’m Canadian, so I can’t imagine how you guys must feel right now. To me, this is like a sadistic murderer moving in next door, but you guys have to live with this monster. Thank you to everyone that voted for Kamala, you did what you could. I was so excited to have a woman in charge, however I fear I may not see that in my lifetime. I’m blaming Moo Deng, Jeremy Dufresne and Azealia Banks for this.
I sincerely believe BOB would make a better president. Here’s to hoping Trump gets stuck in The Black Lodge before his inauguration.

Wait she commented on a post saying there was a mistake in the translation regarding the next album being southern gothic 💀

Oh my god I loved this. It really felt soooo personal. I wish we got this content more often from her, but the rarity makes it special.
She looks straight from 2011, it’s scary. Also, she is hilarious.
Wowowowow this made my day

I really think sonically this record is about to be a lot like Text Book. not aggressively country, but definitely leans in that direction. a bit experimental while still having moments that sound like classic Americana, dark tone, odd percussion, pretty subtle but more going on than just piano or guitar. it has the same unhinged energy that she’s been giving off lately lmao. and the vocal style seems to be how she likes to sing now

if she’s really about to scrap the country idea and nikki lane and turn it into sumn more lana-esque, southern gothic and dark then I’m definitely willing to wait

Strongly disagree. She's put out 9 good albums in her career. That only happens when you see a project through the end. This is merely a bump on the road, kind of what like NFR had along the way - and look how well that turned out. Why you rather NFR was half baked or released an EP midway?
What you're suggesting sounds to me like quitting or giving up.
Also, you're not gonna have to wait two years, it'll come out next year. So, let's chill.

I would consider Cruel World to be her most southern gothic track sonically with Living Legend being her most southern gothic track lyrically and Fishtail being her most southern gothic track visually.

In terms of released songs, Candy Necklace fits that vibe in my opinion. As well as Nectar Of The Gods and the American Whore part of A&W. That's a general sense of southern gothic for me. Of course, she hasn't dug deep in the sound before in her discography, but I feel like those scratch the surface.

okay so google says
“Southern Gothic (also known as Gothic Americana, or Dark Country) is a genre of country music rooted in early jazz, gospel, Americana, gothic rock and post-punk. Its lyrics often focus on dark subject matter.“
this isn’t super insightful but it can help explain what music might fit the description, like maybe i talk to jesus? i also only knew it as an aesthetic, id also say take what lana’s describing as southern gothic with a grain of salt as @Embach pointed out she described chemtrails as midwestern grunge or something 😅

Call me crazy, don’t know how to make new threads in here but I have a theory after I read this interview. To me it looks like a subtle/not-so-subtle tease that there is indeed a LDR documentary movie in the making and Sofia Coppola is heavily connected/maybe directing.
We know Chuck been documenting the tour, her life, they apparently lost a lot of footage but she mentioned it in the text. She also said how she would start a movie on her own and how she would also make one by herself. Why mention that? We know she is extra picky so I can see her choosing someone as Coppola to show her world. On the next page she’s praising Coppola and her artistry and the view, calling The Virgin Suicides her favourite movie. Call me delusional or crazy, don’t care, I think I am right… She’s been working on it, and she’s been working on it for some time now.
