Kinda legendary that those made up lyrics someone uploaded to Musixmatch last week have made it to all these platforms. 

are some fake lyrics that some idiot posted on Musixmatch (Spotify's linked platform for song lyrics) before the track was released.
we must report it to be removed.
 

My favorite listens to new Lana songs/albums are the morning after release and oh my god I'm floored.
Still can't believe how good this song is and I've realized I lowkey don't care about any album campaign/MVs/trailer etc cause the music is being soooo good that's all I care about  (even though I'd of course welcome any extra content with open arms ).
 
If the other songs are as half as good as the two singles we got this is going straight to the top of Lana albums

After a day with A&W, here are my thoughts on it:
- I was first surprised how « quiet » the first part of the song was. I expected the production to be a bit bigger (probably VB tainting my expectations of it). But I could already hear it was a incredible track, with its transitions and many subtle production elements. The piano is simply haunting. We all are « I don’t want to play with you anymore » towards BB, at the moment, but we are probably loving A&w so much already because she gave us songs like TextBook and Black Bathing Suit, which are subtlety produced but are complex in their structure. 
- the title could have been American Whore but A&W also makes sense, with its Americana reference but also referencing the images we collectively have of hookers in diners, between johns. 
- the lyrics are dark AF. It’s really not doing wonders for my seasonal depression but I don’t really care haha. But it really is a gem in her discography. She is just an incredible singer songwriter. And we are digging deeper into the « angry, wordy lyrics » of the album with this one. 
- fave part: the echoey transition to Jimmy / shimmy coco puff (whatever it is), where she repeats « This is the experience of being an American whore »

I love the songs from start to the end so much & no one asked for it but here are some of my favourite moments:
 
The intro bc the guitar & the piano are so beautiful 
The Pre-Chorus, Rosemead & doesn't really really matter part , those harmonies !! 
The piano & vocals in the second verse , it's beyond beautiful 
The jumpscares in the transition,  I'm living for them 
When Shimmy Shimmy Koko Bop part starts 
The last minute, with the verse over the NFR sample, the lost my mind part , then the crazy sound & the scream into the Shimmy Shimmy Koko Bop part 
Everytime she says Your mom called , I told her you fucking up big time 
And probably more like the sound effects & details, but damn A&W is really that good & I have yet dive more deeper into the lyrics but they already leaving me speechless 
 

idk about all that bc for me the beat itself simply is slutting.. whether it matches with the lyrics or not

The title track got 1,355,631 filtered streams on its first day (partial), so the gap between the two tracks consists of 100,000 streams. For a surprise drop of a 7-minute album track with zero playlisting on a Tuesday, this is quite impressive. Hopefully it’ll have a healthy run and - why not? - perform even better (the TikTok stans have to make it go viral though!) in the upcoming days/weeks until the album release date. Lana deserves this. 
 
 

while i do enjoy A&W & think it earned n deserves its moment, the "this is the best thing shes done since NFR album" or esp "since Venice Bitch" takes are rly frying my brain....  idk, personally i don't even think it's better than the title track let alone some of the material out of her previous 2 records  but sure, i still can easily understand those who think it is ......... the way some ppl are completely disregarding the gems we got throughout COTCC/BB however is lowkey upsetting n weird, TO ME. also kinda unsurprising tho bc from what ive seen, this forum doesn't take too kindly to those two albums.
 
 
tldr- black bathing suit, white dress, chem, wildflower wildfire could basically be sister tracks to a&w so atleast pay them their dues  
& COTCC&BB ARE GORGEOUS RECORDS ANYWAY .

Judging other people by their weight is so wrong, even when meant as a compliment.
Everyone has to take care of their own body, and you can do without other people's comments unless you explicitly ask for them.
 

What Jack has done well here is this haunting goosebump atmosphere, you can well feel how Lana loses her mind and how her mood drastically changes (because she has taken drugs?). Something like this has probably never been heard before.

it still surprises me if i listen to the song on repeat how drastically different the end is to the beginning of the song like it happens so naturally you don't realise and then it begins again and it's like what????

I'm still shocked how smooth that transition is
