I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but in case this is all feeling familiar ...
Lana Del Rey deletes all her Instagram photos and most of her tweets (NME, 5 September 2017)

    I feel so sad today,
But i know she had to do it and i understand it.
Social media is literally a dangerous place for anyone's mental health  & state of mind. I think this is about time for Lana to do some detoxication in her life, since social media, the twitter stans culture, the cancel culture are getting out of control and beyond toxicity.
I just hope she'll make a comeback one day and 100% in a fresh & healthier spirit (in any form, she can be sending secret emails to us like Lorde - who knows).

But she must know that us little fuckers will always be right here no matter what - we will always support every aspect of her choice in life. Good luck Lana.

Side note: BB album is coming in the next 6 weeks, we will show her the strongest support wont we? Let's take it to number 1 spot on Billboard 200

I like how she posted the "Fuck it I love you" / "The greatest" video on Twitter!

although it is very bittersweet, and i'll miss her presence, i will always support her no matter what <3 at the end of the day, her mental health is the most important, and if this will help her, i think she should do it <3

Okay, I left her a little goodbye message. I just hope she knows how much we all love her and will miss her as she's gone! Hope she returns one day soon whenever she feels ready, and at least we'll have the music and any other gifts she shares to remind us that she's not so far away as it may seem.
    Bye for now, beloved x

Considering that we live in an era where social media presence is the most important medium for exposure in the business, I find her decision to be very impactful honestly. I think it's very big of her, but after the past two years I think she has showed us that she is a fragile and mistundersood person and the criticism and constent negative energy that was brought to her, whether or not it was warranted, it finally got to her.

Her instagram is honestly iconic, I'll miss that. It was definitely a sort of extention of her visuals and I loved that. But I wish her all the love and support.

for some reason i just feel like this is the right move but i’m still so so sad

it’s kinda insane to think about how much we depend on social media. almost like, wtf did we do before it? I think lana not only made this decision for her mental health but because it’s her deciding this is the way she wants to present herself as an artist. one of the things that always made her so intriguing was her mystique- something not a lot of artists have today thanks to social media. even mk and ashley still have this alluring cult-like aura surrounding them because they never indulged in creating an instagram or twitter

Just a note as someone just posted it, please do not share Lana’s personal private account! She’s obviously looking for privacy right now, so let’s respect that ♥️

I think it's because she doesn't want to hand over her socials to someone else like an assistant or her management. She still wants to be very much in control of her own shit. That's why I don't think this will be a long lived leave of absence on socials, I think she's just leaving for a while and she'll be back when she's ready to announce something else like the covers album or the poetry book release, etc.

I think the Great American Songbook is meant, e.g. "Summertime" belongs to it.

I want to say that Arcadia is perfectly placed after Blue Banisters in this album. The first song slows down the sense of hearing, it's nearly like time is standing still, and after that you hear Arcadia more attentively and with a slower and more intense feeling.

Hi all, I've retitled the American Standards & Classics announcement thread to be a Pre-Pre-Release Thread so you all can continue to discuss the cover album there, and this thread can continue to stay dedicated to Blue Banisters! I'll be moving any posts related to the cover album that were posted in here into the other thread so discussion of the separate works don't become jumbled together in our Blue Banisters thread. Thanks! x

It's good that she evolves and not sticks to her old style and stereotypes.
