text book is already an underrated masterpiece

hey guys, i’ve been lurking since cocc leaked (lmao) but i decided to join the day  the chaos begins after the release of blue banisters! glad to be part of the crazy family now!

i think i’m one of the few who adored Text Book when it first dropped, the whole amy winehouse verses vibes yet west coast tempo switch-up - divine - and i prefer the bluesy more UV vibe type of songs but my favorites so far that had me obsessed on first listen are Text Book, Black Bathing Suit, IYLDWM, Beautiful, Dealer (had me like wtf when i first heard it, i giggled) and Thunder. 
 
BBS is completely unmatched to anything she’s ever created before, it’s chaotic and messy but so beautiful (and gives me UV vibes which I will always love) and it just was exactly what I was expecting and craving from her after COCC’s tease of TJF, COCC with the outro and DBJAG. it is so unexplainably unapologetically Lana and I am just trying not to overplay it. Thunder was my favorite unreleased last year and I played it quite a lot but I’m still not sure where I stand with the album version vs the demo, it’s beautiful but it lost the TLSP indie rock genre that it was in that gave it that unique feel to it but it’s still an amazing song. Dealer is so quirky and it makes me feel drunk. the first time I ever heard it I tried not to burst out laughing because it was so chaotic but it was a grower. Beautiful’s introduction and melody are chefs kiss, for someone who moaned at the constant ballads that have been released lately I love it it sounds so sweet.  I previously mentioned my view on Text Book above and honestly I feel like it is some of Lanas best work. this is just my opinion on my favorite songs so far, with each listen it’ll change.

honestly the entire arcadialovesong2018 saga was SO funny
 
i would say my favorite moment was when we found out that "map of l.a" was actually titled "arcadia" and we all started making greek mythology jokes & predictions while descending into chaos  
 
also when the tracklist, alt. covers, dealer, & official merch all leaked within a day

lustforlife calling me the seventh demon from hell is definitely up there on my list. The day we found the tracklist was really fun too

I'm fairly new here, been lurkin since NFR era and I joined just this year in January ... being here it's one of the few good things of my day: during free time at work or after dinner I like to come in here and laugh and rage with you all. I feel understood here since we all love Lana and no one IRL that I know of feel this way about her music. I don't feel alone here  I want to thank you all for making me smile and I look forward to discussing Lana on Colbert tomorrow and to go completely insane in the incoming new thread: Blue Banisters POST RELEASE 

we're closing off another pre-release era, filled with laughter, fights, delusions, chaos, trolls, shitposts, & friendship!  i get a feeling we won't immediately enter another pre-release for "ldr9" right away  it'll be weird not having a full-fledged pre-release era for a main lana del rey album immediately after this one is finished, but for all we know, lana could hint at ldr9 through instagram, or her tv appearence tomorrow!  i've had so much fun with you all, not just for blue banisters, but also chemtrails!  we'll always be a tight-knit, amazing, exciting community, always having our gifs handy whenever we need them!  and if we don't get the pre-pre-release thread for ldr9 right after, we always have the covers album thread!      

Isn't it wild how much time we all spend together, like I feel like I know some of you so well even though I don't at all 
 
This pre-release has been so fun, I truly love this place. If any of my besties are ever in town, just hit me up.
